    HI everybody,
first of all,i'd like to apologize myself for my language mistakes i'm french and i'm not very good....
so,i have a question,it's been two weeks now that i'm doing the zone diet but recently i had difficulties to count the numbers of proteins and carbohydrates in my meal.when you count the proteins number, these is just it of the meat, fish eggs ect...or do we have to include the proteins that come from the carbohydrates like in the lentils, rice ect....?
so to understand my point if for my breakfast i take 2 slices of chicken ham and 80 gr of whole wheat bread do i have just to count the proteins of my chicken ham only or proteins chicken ham+ proteins whole wheat bread?

    cordially

    Hi sliman,

No you would not count the protein in plant foods, with the exception of soy foods. In your breakfast example you would only count the protein in the chicken ham.
