I currently use the exercise bike for cardio. I do approx. 35-45 minutes of cardio and then do approx. 15 aggressive sprints on the bike. I was wondering what would be the best exercise to thin out my legs: just cardio, sprints or a combination of both? Thanks for ay insight you may have.

Slimming is really going to come more from diet than exercise. Exercise conditions your cardiovascular system ond/or strengthens your muscles, depending on the type of exercise. Getting rid of the excess fat is what will slim you legs and thighs the most.

Hi Maureen -- I agree with Sue. I also noticed that the longer I'm eating in the Zone, even though I'm maintaining my weight now, my hips/thighs are getting smaller. I'm "pear shaped", so initially my weight loss is from my upper body, and then seems to even out.

I've also begun the Bar Method exercise DVD, and the workouts seem to really tone my lower body well (the toning is great all over, but I notice it's more effective on my lower body than other DVDs I've tried).

    Here's a link:

    Hope this helps!

Lift heavy sh*t....putting heavy loads on yr thighs and hiit is the only way to go for exercize. drop any grains dairy and sugar you may be eating....limit yr fruit and you will remove inches. get off the bike and find a CF affilaite immediatley....front squat, any squat with load and loaded lunges....I took three inches off mine in about six weeks after I did all those dietary changes and started liftimg heavier. CF and you wont need to ask anymore! Well about thighs anyway!

I agree with everything said so far. I just want to add that you might want to check out the book, "The New Rules of Lifting for Women" by Lou Shuyler.
