Hi Maggie, Sunflower seeds are not favorable they consist of mostly Omega-6 fatty acids. |

Walnuts are not a terrible choice, but they do have more omega-6 fatty acids than other nuts. Your better choices are almonds and macadamia nuts. |

You could use www.nutritiondata.com to look them up, it is possible to look at the fats breakdown and identify their omega-6 content. I took a peek and did a comparison of brazilnuts and almonds. Per 1 oz (28g): ------------------------ Brazil nuts total fat: 19g mono fat: 6.9g omega-6: 5758 per 1g fat: mono fat 0.36g omega-6: 303 -------------------------- Almonds total fat: 14g mono fat: 9g omega-6: 3375 per 1g fat: mono fat 0.64g omega-6: 241 --------------------------- So, you can see that when I compared gram per gram of fat, almonds have almost twice as much monounsaturated fat and less omega-6 fat than does brazilnuts.

I looked up peanuts on nutrition data, too. http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts...cts/4448/2 One ounce total fat: 13.9g mono fat: 6.9g omega-6: 4393 per 1g fat: mono fat 0.49g omega-6: 316 It looks like Brazil nuts are a bit better than peanuts. I've been eating some natural peanut butter because Dr. Sears mentions it as a favorable fat. I'll cut back a little. Macadamia nuts are the best, by far. One ounce total fat: 21.2g mono fat: 16.5g omega-6: 363 per 1g fat: mono fat 0.77g omega-6: 17 |

Only 1 Brazil not per day (3 grams Fat) is necessary. it provides enough Selenium et. al. in only 1 nut per day. |

Looking at Nutrtiondata.com again. Olive oil and avocados only have about 100 mg of Omega 6 per gram of fat. |
