TJ. That's a tough one, and one I don't really have an answer to.

Can I say that something in your post really struck me. Can I be honest and say that this is really an issue for your boyfriend to tackle. YOU can't "put him on a zone diet". He has to really want this enough to do the work, the cooking, the planning, the reading, the shopping etc that it takes to make this work. Dieting is not an easy thing, in case you've never dieted yourself, and absolutely no one can do it FOR you. You can offer all the support he needs, be there for him, help him, but you can't DO it for him. I'm sure someone here will be able to help you with your question, but do keep what I've offered in mind. It WILL save YOU a lot of hassle in the long run. Good luck!!

    Hi TJ,

Your boyfriend might want to call Zone Labs at the 800 number above and ask for their suggestion. Also, he might do very well with the ZoneFast plan, modified to eliminate the veggies and fruit that he’s allergic to.

I've been very successful with the Zone for over 15 years and at my house (we all eat in the Zone here) it has never been a diet in the traditional sense of the word. Everyone has their own way of approaching things, but the Zone does not have to involve a lot of planning or cooking. My cousin has never been a person who cooks and she has been doing the Zone for over 10 years without cooking. The extent of the planning for us has always been to simply buy only Zone friendly food whenever we grocery shop. In addition, I always carry a ZoneFast food or Zone bar in my bag so I've always got something with me in a pinch. Once you learn the basics (how to achieve the balance of P, C and F that you need, how to time you meals and which foods are best for you) you'll see how easy it becomes to stay in the Zone wherever you happen to be eating. It offers a lot of flexibility.

Good luck to you and to your boyfriend!

Hi TJ, The Zone123 baked products are the only thing I can think of as stated above by Sue.

Sorry let me clairify I didnt mean I was "making" him do anything he doesnt want to do. He has seen how happy and healthy I am on the zone and was interested in eating in the zone. I just didnt know how to help him make a meal without all the fruits and veggies that cover my plate.
    Thanks for your responses

TJ. I'm sorry too. I know I probably sounded harsh, obviously I've been in the situation I spoke about and it hit a nerve for me. Can I start again?

Are there any vegy's or fruits he can have? Citrus maybe, or anthing he can eat without a reaction. Make a list of those item and just work around them. As Sue mentioned that would be the way to go. What does he eat now? I guess if he really can't eat a single fruit or vegy, you'd just have to do the best you can with what he can have. Make sure he takes the fish oil and other supplements, I just don't know how the whole blood level theory would work, but I imagine it could be done. Good luck and please let us know how it works out.
