Help please. My package which should have been delivered today is not going to be delivered until TUESDAY, May 25th. Somehow a package that started out in Lawrence, New York to be delivered to Freeport, New York is being routed through Keasby, New Jersey! Today is the last day I have of Zone 1-2-3 food. And how is this delay going to effect the freshness of the products?

Things were rolling along so smoothly. Now I don't know how to proceed. Sue, if you're out there, please let me know what I should do for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. I'm so angry I could spit nails right about now!!

    Thanks.

Crises averted. FedEx updated their website and the package will be delivered today!! Phew. Although I did figure out that I could follow the "traditional" Zone plan for a couple of days, if necessary.

Thanks everybody and have a great weekend. =D

That's good Marsha. If you don't receive it, my suggestion is to use the plate method (http://www.zonediet.com/Tools/Quick...ult.aspx.) It's the way I lost 100 pounds and it's very easy.

I'm headed to the beach on L.I.Sound now. I'll wave. :-) Guess I'll have to wave very hard because I'm pretty sure Freeport is on the south part of L.I.

    Have a nice day!

Hi Sue and Marsha -- although I've relocated to Tampa for work, I'm a Long Islander at heart -- grew up in Bay Shore and then moved to Northport, where my parents are now. My parents live on the LI Sound (ah, if only they lived there when I was growing up!) -- so next time I'm up there (Memorial Day weekend) I'll wave to you Sue!

Hi Sue can you see me waving to you??? And you're correct, Freeport is on the South Shore of Western Nassau County. I should mention that when I was a kid, we used to vacation in Moodus. Do you know where that is? I have very fond memories of being there.

And Laurie, next time you're on Long Island, let me know and I'll wave to you as well!

Just to update, the package was delivered a little while ago and I'm so relieved. And to keep myself from having to be in "crisis mode" again, I've already placed a two week custom order (I already know the things I love and the things that are just tolerable - love everything except the plain bagel chips and plain croutons, didn't order any of them!) so that I don't have to worry about running out of food.

This morning I had the Smoked Salmon Bagel, for lunch I'm going to have the Tomato, Mozarella sandwich, for dinner I'm going to have the Roasted Veggie Orzo and my snack will be the dreaded plain bagel chips with hummus. Does anyone have a "sweet" suggestion for the plain bagel chips? All in all, a pretty lovely day of eating beautiful food!!

Moodus, yes, I've heard fo it. I'm about 45 min north of there. No, I didnt' see you waving...too fat an there was a haze. :-) Actually where we go to the beach is in so. eastern CT, sort of due north of the Hamptons.

Glad to hear you're stocking up on a few extras. As I was driving this morning, I was wondering if you'd thought of that.

I done have suggestions to sweeten the bagel chips, but here's a favorite bagel chip dip at my house that I've posted in one of my recipe threads here (my little grandson even loves it!):

    MEDITERRANEAN DIP

This is a scaled down version of a recipe on the Whole Foods Market site. The original recipe called for pita chips, which I've replaced with Zone bagel chips. This makes a very satisfying fun Zone meal or snack. It makes one serving, but can be multiplied by 8 to fit in an 8 inch square baking dish. The larger version can also be layered in a glass bowl or small trifle dish, if you like. Be sure to drain the wet ingredients well, to prevent the dip from becoming watery. I've included some substitutions, for those times when you don't have all the ingredients on hand.

    Ingredients

    1/8 cup container hummus

1/8 cup firmly packed baby spinach, roughly chopped

1/8 cup thinly sliced roasted red peppers, drained

1 artichoke heart, (either marinated or not), drained and roughly chopped

1/8 cup plain low fat or nonfat Greek-style yogurt (or any low fat or nonfat yogurt)

a couple sliced pitted black olives, such as Kalamata (or little organic extra virgin olive)

1 tablespoon of crumbled low fat or fat free feta cheese

1 package Zone bagel chips (the plain variety)

    Directions

    1. Spread hummus slightly on a small dish or in the bottom of a dessert size bowl.

    2. Scatter spinach over the top and press down lightly.

    3. Arrange peppers, then artichokes hearts over the top.

    4. Drop dollops of yogurt over the artichokes, then spread out to make an even layer.

    5. Sprinkle with olives (or olive oil) and feta.

    6. Serve with the bagel chips on the side.

    Enjoy!

    Hi Sue:

Sorry you didn't see me! Your dip sounds delicious. Maybe I'll try it.

    Have a great evening.
