I'm 28, male and have been bodybuilding for about 10+years. I'm currently 225lbs. at 12% BF. I stand at 72". Recently I've been very bored with my routine and decided to start a CrossFit program in all aspects. Part of this being the ZONE. I have read 3 of the books and done a ton of research. With the exception of the chapter on elite athletes in "the ZONE" I hadn't come across much regarding the "well above average" guy.

I've been following a 25 block system spreading out the macros as follows:

    7am - 5 blocks (breakfast)
    10am - 1 block (preworkout - 1P-Whey, 1C-Oats, 1F-Walnut)
    1130am - 4 blocks (postworkout - 4P-Whey, 4C-Dextrose, 4F-Fish pills)
    1pm - 5 blocks (repair meal/lunch)
    4pm - 3 blocks (snack)
    7pm - 5 blocks (dinner)
    11pm - 3 blocks (snack/bedtime)

At times, it seems like a LOT of food. However, I never feel overly full and am NEVER hungry. It seems to good to be true. Now, I've always followed a very healthy eating regime, but not as balanced as this and certainly never grain/starch free. With all these veggies (5C!) at mealtime i feel like I'm cheating! lol

But anyways, I have a hard time finding info on 5 block meals that aren't just massive! I understand the need for these macros and at about 2300 kcal this is probably the least I've consumed in years! Does anyone here have experience with such a large block count? If so, can anyone refer me to any websites or literature that I may find useful?
Any help would be great, thanks a lot!

    Nick,

Congrats on getting involved with CrossFit and The Zone! I think you will find that you will feel better than ever.

I may have counted wrong, but I did see that you listed out 26 blocks for your day, is that correct?

I personally don't have experience with that high of block counts, however, after doing a search or two I did come across several articles talking about athletes in the Zone.

Some of the links are here, you can read and determine what you want to take from these of course
