    Hello all!
Not sure where to post this; hoping this spot is okay. I'm new to the Zone diet and, while I'm feeling good about the diet itself (I'm down 2 lbs already!), I'm wondering how some of you handled specific weaknesses? I love peanut butter and was so disappointed to realize only 1/2 tsp = 1 block! I switched to natural peanut butter long ago and the fat and carbs seem(?) pretty low...I've abstained so far, but not sure what the future holds! haha! How did any of you handle specific weaknesses in the beginning? Will it pass with time or should I be worried?

I love peanut butter too. Actually, I didn't used to love it nearly as much until I started the zone.

What I do to get my fix is to find ways to get a good hit of it. 1/2 tsp on a half apple is surprisingly flavourful. Add a block of protein and you have a full block snack.

The other place I use it is with my steel cut oats and blueberries, mixed up. Almost reminds me of a peanut butter jelly sandwich. If I'm using eggwhites as my protein, I get to double the amount of peanut butter: 1T PB can go a long way.

I also found that the longer I'm in the Zone, the less I crave big portions of fat/sugar. A little bit is enough of a treat.

    Hi Megan,

Xee's response is great -- it's true (and something that I have to keep reminding myself), that the longer I'm in the Zone the less I get cravings. As far as the peanut butter goes, I'd see how you react to having just the 1/2 t (or 1 t if you're having it with non-fat protein). If it induces cravings for more, then I'd abstain for now, and then try again in about 2 weeks. I have a few foods I love but induce cravings for more, so I've found the best thing is to stay away until I'm more firmly in the Zone.
