    Hi all,
Can someone tell me if I can add the new products in with the old method of zone blocks? Ie - can I half a brownie for a one block snack? Or can I have 2 pieces of bread and that is 1 block then substitute a 3 block meal with 2 more blocks?

I love the bread and the cookies!!! mmmmmmm.

Yes, there is no reason you have to eat all new Zone 1-2-3 foods.
    You can mix.

    Hi Victoria,

Yes you can incorporate the 1-2-3 baked foods and pastas into the classic Zone meal plan if you like. Keep in mind that 1 slice of Zone 1-2-3 bread contains the equivalent of 1 fully balanced block and 2 slices contain 2 blocks.

Great thanks for your help! Now with the pastas and pizza bases, are they classed as 4 equal blocks? So if I made it up to 6 blocks I could have 2 x 3 block meals.....
    Thanks so much.

Yes, the pastas and pizza products are 4 blocks. Your idea of buildiing to 2 6 blocks meals should do the trick for you.

I'm wondering if I'm the only one that gets extremely thirsty after eating the New Zone foods?? If I've eaten a few of the foods during the day I start to get so thirsty and I wake up in the middle of the night with my eyes and mouth so dry!! I've tried not eating any and seem to be fine, but when I start again the same thing happens. My husband says he gets very thirsty after eating them also, but not as bad as I get. Has anyone heard of this??

Paula, make sure you're drinking enough water. Here are the water instructions for the Zone foods:

"Drink enough water (in ounces) to equal at least 1/2 your weight!

Here are a few suggestions to make water more interesting:

Add a little lime or lemon juice
Dilute one oz. of fruit juice with 8 oz. water
Drink mineral water in glass bottles
If you drink any diet soda or coffee (regular or decaf), then plan to add an equivalent amount of extra water to make up for their diuretic effects."

So if I weigh 128lbs. I should drink 64oz. of water a day. I think I'll have to measure it out for awhile to make sure I'm drinking enough.

That's only eight 8oz each day (minimum) - more is OK .....
A typical drinking glass is about 12 (or 16 ) oz.
Have at least one 12 oz glass of water with each of 3 meals,
and an 8 oz glass with each of 2 snacks,
and you will have had 54 oz of water.
Easy enough to add one more 8oz during the day.

    Thanks John.
So much easier than measuring it all out at the beginning of the day.
