Th. 4.01.10 B: Zone cinnamon bun with a sliver of butter S: Zone peanut butter granola with a little chocolate unsweetened soy milk and a few black raspberries (berries from Trader Joe’s, frozen, delicious!) Yoga Class Late lunch: Those of you who know me well here will never believe what happened. I forgot to eat lunch! Yep, really. This is not an April Fool’s Day joke, lol. Really, it’s not. :-) I was out and very busy, wasn’t hunger and lunchtime went right by me. Just goes to show you how well the ZoneFast foods work. I didn’t realize it until almost 5 PM. My late lunch (very late) was a hummus and olive sandwich on toasted Zone multigrain bread. S: ¾ of a Zone brownie Vestibular exercises.1 Dinner: ½ Zone pizza (multigrain crust with bruschetta, olives and a little sprinkle of grated parmesan) and a little bit of cottage cheese S: 2 Zone Heath bar cookies |

Sun. 4.04.10 Easter! Exercise rest day B: Zone cinnamon bread with light cream cheese Went for a walk (not a walk that I would consider exercise) S: Zone brownie...kind of like having Easter chocolates :-) Lunch: vegetable lasagna, Zone Fusilli with a little tomato sauce, collards braised in low fat coconut milk, and salad with olive oil and vinegar dressing; fresh strawberries and blackberries for dessert S: 1 Zone Heath bar cookie, of 1 hardboiled egg white with touch of mayo and a little hummus and ½ of a Cadbury dark chocolate mini egg (someone brought candy to us...we passed it out to our guests to take home with them) Dinner: ½ Zone pizza (multigrain Zone crust with bruschetta, kalamata olives and a little parmesan cheese) S: 2 Zone Heath bar cookies |

Tu. 4.06.10 B: Zone peanut butter granola, berries and soy milk Yoga class I ended up being out from all morning and most of the afternoon until 4:30PM, and all I had with me was Zone peanut butter granola, because I hadn’t expected to be gone (I didn't feel like stopping to buy lunch). Hi Everyone! Yesterday we celebrated my son's "Special Day", the anniversary of his arrival home to us from South Korea at the of 3 months (the 24th anniversary of his adoption, the acutual day is Monday 4/19). Each year he chooses what he'd like to do on that day. This year we took him and his girlfriend out for lunch to Wood and Tap, a small New England chain. Here's a little trick I've learned that makes it a lot easier to order a Zone friendly meal at restaurants. Ask for the gluten free menu and you'll have a wide selection to choose from (but don't indulge in the gluten free substitutes for the bread and rolls when offered). You still might need to apply the Zone rule of ordering extra veggies, but you won't have to be wading through tons of bread and pasta offerings to figure out which ones you can easily convert to Zone balanced meals. St. 4.17.10 B: Zone Original Granola with raspberries and unsweetened chocolate soy milk S: 1/2 package Zone granola Lunch: (at a restaurant) chicken Caesar salad (w/o the croutons), a side of black beans, and I shared an appetizer of Maine crab and artichoke dip with celery sticks for dipping (it’s offered with fried pita bread, and they were happy to substitute celery sticks when I asked). I had a few bites of a shared brownie sundae for dessert. S: toasted Zone multigrain bagel with chive flavored whipped light cream cheese Vestibular exercises.1 Strength training; upper body Dinner: Sandwich of roasted red pepper hummus, kalamata olives and fresh baby spinach on 2 slices of toasted Zone multigrain bread. Hi Everyone, I'm back from vacation and had a nice time visiting family. Now that I'm back I'll be posting my food and exercise journal here again. Yesterday we flew home and the Zone 1-2-3 foods were a lifesaver for me. In the morning I toasted a cinnamon bun and made a quick sandwich, popped them into my carry on bag and was set until late afternoon when I arrived home. It was so easy and convenient, and a much better choice for me re inflammation lowering, than putting together meals and snacks of airport food. Sun. 5.02.10 B: Zone multigrain bagel with light cream cheese walk S: Zone cinnamon bun Lunch: a sandwich of 2 slices toasted Zone Cinnamon swirl with light cream cheese and a few peanuts S: 1 Zone chocolate brownie Dinner: a sandwich of 2 slices toasted Zone multigrain bread, olive lemon hummus (from Trader Joe's) and lots of fresh organic tomato slices S: 2 Zone chocolate chip cookies warmed in the microwave |
