    Hi Sue,
Well i went and got the 2 weeks 123 meals yesterday ,!! and boy was i surprized at my very long box of goodies ,i thought it was my birthday !ha,ha,
Anyway i read all the info as to what was in store for the next 2 weeks ,and was a little surprized as the meals were so few and i could not understand why there was not really much meat included (except maybe a slice or 2 ),also there was only breakfast, dinner ,tea, and 1 snack (not 2 as in the block or eye ball),can you please help me out here to understand the logic in this planner ?
Where do i eat the veggies and fruit it says to have on the grocery list?
for my first day today i decided i would have the following

6.30-7am ,Breakfast = pl bagel + peanut butter
    12.30-1pm, Dinner = fusilli + broc
5.30-6pm, Tea = Cuban sandwich + grapes (not papaya )
    10pm , Snack = bagel chips
(i may change around the dinner and tea as i will be at work and it has to fit in with time)

Am i on the right track here or not? i am missing 1 snack and my fruit ,i only see one portion here , so do i take the other portion and have it as a snack in between everything else, in the booklet it says to have 8 potions veggies per day, fruits 2 per day,doh !
Also when i do complete my two weeks can i then incorperate these new foods into the normal zone foods as i was eating befor,
I am not really dumb ,but it does take some understanding
    thanks

Lynn, all I can add is that I am LOL about the confusion! I had very similar questions when I received my first shipment. I don't know what you got, but I received 2 pieces of literature, which seemed to contradict each other. I recall feeling very confused about it all, with no good explanations (even contradicting info when calling in to talk to reps on the phone). So, I am laughing with you, not at you!

But, I will share with you that your meal plan sounds like a pretty good one to me. You CAN add veggies, but apparently it is not required. I think you want to limit your fruit to no more than the # of servings listed (can't remember what it says, perhaps 2), but you can eat pretty much unlimited veggies.

Meat isn't included because the products already have protein in them.

Fusilli is going to give you the equivalent of a 4-block meal, so if you count your other meals as 2 block meals, and incorporate one dairy into your day, you will have a meal plan the equivalent of 11 blocks.

Hope that helps, this is how I worked mine out when I was doing it. BTW, I don't use these foods any longer. I didn't do well with them.

lynn, you got the foods; excellent!

"can you please help me out here to understand the logic in this planner ?"
The foods contain all the necessary P, C and F. The dinner selection packages (pastas and pizza crusts) contain twice as much P, C and F as the other food packages. If you want, you can add up to an ounce of lean protein to any meal, but it’s not necessary (limit of 1 dairy selection daily). Try to clear your mind of the original Zone plan for now and just follow this plan as presented. It’ll be fine. As I mentioned, basically the Zone foods contain all the protein you need. Think of the additions as condiments to make the meals fun, appetizing and full of variety. Your Zone foods will be the basis of all meals and snacks and you are free to add items similar to those suggested in the Zone 1-2-3 info. It’s really easy. You’ll see once you’ve put a few meals together. :-)

"Where do i eat the veggies and fruit it says to have on the grocery list?"
Eat them with meals or snacks.

"Am i on the right track here or not?"
Yes, looks good; might be a little bit long of a time frame you have between breakfast and lunch though.

    "i am missing 1 snack"
You're not missing food because the fusilli package contains twice as much P, C and F as the other packages. When following the sample plan a suggested, it will be fine not to eat a late night snack. (note, it's a sample, not carved in stone)

" and my fruit i only see one portion here , so do i take the other portion and have it as a snack in between everything else,"

Take a look at the Grocery Additions page in the Weight Loss tab above, and you'll see it's 1 or 2 servings of fruit a day. It would even be fine not to eat fruit.

"in the booklet it says to have 8 potions veggies per day, fruits 2 per day"
When you look at the Grocery Additions page here, you'll see that's "up to 8" veggies, and 1 or 2 fruits, etc. Those additions are not requirements, more like guidelines on amounts not to exceed.

"Also when i do complete my two weeks can i then incorperate these new foods into the normal zone foods as i was eating befor,"
    Yes, that would be fine.

You haven't mentioned Omega Rx and Sea Health Plus. They're two very important parts of the Zone 1-2-3 plan (1 = the new Zone foods, 2 = Zone fish oil and 3 = Zone polyphenols).

Last of all, drink a lot of water. It's been recommended to drink 2 cups (16 fl. oz.) before each meal. Your minimum daily water intake should be the number of fl. oz. equal to half your weight (if you weight 160 pounds, that's a minimum of 80 fl. oz. water daily). And dont' forget, you're supposed to drink one cup of water for each cup of tea or coffee you drink, due to their diuretic effect.

You can take a look at my Zone food journal here to get a better idea (Note I eat 1 more package of Zone food a day than you, because I have a higher LBM and activity level than the averge woman;it's very important to eat an appropriate amount to maintain your LBM.): http://www.zonediet.com/Community/F...fault.aspx

    Have fun!

    Hi Sue ,
Thats fantastic thanks ,now i understand much better ! i got through today very well ,apart from this afternoon ,so i had a small portion of fruit to keep me going ,
although if i had thought about it i could have had half the bagel chips , still at least i am learning , the pasta i had was wonderful and i have really enjoyed today ,
Now getting down to the supplements--- i have not got the zone omega , but i do take our version of omega rx,i also take 1 magnesium tab ,2 vitamin B ,and 1 iron ,which the health shop say is fine,up to now i have dropped 14lbs, which i am well pleased about ,so i will keep going .
I could not believe how fresh the foods stayed for saying they where in transit for 2 days before they got to me.
well day one nearly over for me , i hope the rest of the week goes just as well !!!!, by the way, i did try to down load some of your recipes ,but for some reason i just could not get them ,(have you thought about putting them in book form and getting Dr Sears to publish them for you) ???take care

Glad I could help! Sounds like you're having a good day. :-)

Try the "Rice and Greens" recipe. It's very easy and really good! We're having it for dinner tonight.

    A couple more tips:

It's good to consult with your doctor about additional supplementation(it's usually recommended not to take supplemental iron).

Don't eat fruit by itself; eat it with a meal or snack.
