    Hummus is basically chic peas:
    .
Here's a recipe I came across (might have even been posted on these forums?):
    .
    - start with a can of chick peas, rinsed and drained
    - add something wet (a bit of water, a bit of lemon juice is what I use)
    - add something savory (garlic, roasted red pepper, & cilantro are my favorites)
    - salt and pepper if you like
    - most hummus uses either a lot of olive oil or tahini, which is more fat than I want, so I use a few drops (maybe half a tsp) of sesame oil which gives flavor but not as much fat.
    .
Put it all in a food processor and mix until smooth.

Hummus is chick peas (garbanzo beans) pureed together with garlic, a little oil , sometimes tahini, lemon, etc. If you google it, you can find tons of info and recipes. You can also purchase hummus ready-made in any grocery store.
