My husband and are doing the Zone, really enjoying it, but he finding the snacks a challenge. He as a few food allergies and they seem to be all the snack food choices. Nuts, citrus fruits and cinnamon. Can you help w/ any alternatives so he's not eating a Zone bar (the limited few w/o nuts) at every snack?

How about Cottage Cheese (Protein) with berries (Fav Carbs) and a touch of Olive Oil (Fat).
The occasional evening snack could be some lo-fat cheese with 4 oz Red Wine.

sharon, a Zone snack can be any combination of foods that result in aproximately 1P 1C and 1F. The snacks you see listed are simply suggestions. One good snack without nuts, citrus fruit and cinnamon is cottage cheese with tomato wedges and slices of avocado. Another one is a 1 block salad with olive oil and vinegar dressing with 1 ounce of cooked chicken breast added. Another is a glass of milk and a few olives.
