She picked up some whole wheat Omega-3, high Fiber tortilla's. . Total Crabs: 5g Fiber: 12g Net Carbs -7g ? (0g realistically.) & Protein 8g from Soy! Total fat: 2g |

Probably because of the union strike. Must be management's decision. . We (my wife) hardly ever shop there. Just the occasional quick item since it is only 2 miles away on main street in Nashua, NH. . Our local newspaper (Nashua Telegraph) does a full grocery shop at all of the local supermarket chains in the area: Market Basket, Hannafords, Stop & Shop, and Shaws. . Market Basket (where my wife does most of her shopping along with SAM's Club) has always come out the lowest - consistently. And Shaw's is always at or near the top as the most expensive. |

FYI: Not temporary but apparently permanent: . Thank you for contacting us regarding the closure of our Shaw's food stores in your area. . Shaw’s continuously evaluates its stores to identify opportunities to strengthen its overall business and, when necessary, close or sell stores that are not meeting its goals. While these decisions are always difficult, given the impact on associates and customers, they ultimately allow us to operate more efficiently and effectively within a highly competitive retail environment. The stores closing are in the CT and NH areas only, many of which have been already purchased by either Shop or Stop and Shop. . . We recognize that the decision has a tremendous impact on our associates and customers, and it is only made after much deliberation. If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact our customer service center at 1-877-932-7948. . Sincerely, . Randy S. Customer Care Specialist |

I also came across a package with alleged negative carbs...a package of frozen artichoke hearts from Trader Joe's. 4g carb with 5g fiber if i remember correctly. I stuck with the zone measurement but it still left me feeling perplexed lol. |

Thanks. It was announced a few months ago here in CT, and was in the papers and on the news. |

Those obviously have a misprint on them. Fiber is a carb so there is no way to have negative carbs. They are probably 15 grams of carbs not 5, net 3 grams. Note the same label also says that for a 2000 calorie diet the recommended daily carb intake is 300mg, which is 0.3 grams. Um, I don't think so. |

Another thought I had -- I've heard that outside the US, the carbs on the nutrition label are "net carbs" (with the fiber already subtracted out). I wonder if that may be the case here? Laurie |
