This message is for SUE K the best ZONER in the world ,
After 5 years of not being on the zone ,i am now back again, the reason i went off the zone was because my new husband said i did not eat enough, although i had lost over 70lbs befor i met him and had enjoyed being in the ZONE.I had never felt better in all my life.
So here i am today to let you know that i am now back with avengance.I have put on well over 70lbs,have had high cholestrol, blood pressure, hardly able to breath properly when out walking and i love to go out walking, could not even bend properly, because i have so much weight.
So now just 3 weeks later from starting the zone again , i am starting to feel good again,my cholestrol is back to normal, blood presure almost back to normal, can bend again ,and i can walk a lot better,
So the moral of my little story is ,YES for all those doubters out there ,THE ZONE DOES WORK ,but you have to follow the rules and dont let anyone put you off, i wish i had had the guts to tell my husband leave me be and let my body tell me whats good for it ,
anyway sue you will of course hear from me again, and i still love the zone pasta with peanut butter,(although i have none left,so can i use normal pasta ? ) )its one of the first recipes you gave me when the pasta first came to the zone !

Hi lynn! Good to hear from you! :-D

Peer pressure to eat more...phew, glad you've moved on past that! :-)

Fantastic job at turning things around! Keep that momentum and run with it.

Regular pasta...NO! Not if you want to stay in the Zone, but you knew that. Trust your instincts. The Zone is about eating low GL, and regular pasta does not fit the bill. Zone Labs isn't selling that pasta anymore because they have a new line of foods (unfortunately they're only available in the US). Embrace your Zone meals as a new adventure and try to make them as appealing to you as the pasta was (hint...you can put peanut sauce on veggies, too).

Have a great week, and keep in touch! :-)

Not sure if you'll be able to get it in the UK- but there is a line of pasta from a Company in USA called Dreamfield's.
    .
Still an unfavorable carb; however, instead of only about 1/4 cup (volume) of pasta to make up no more than 1/3 of your carbs as unfavorable, they have a process that binds most carbs and acts like insoluble fiber.
    .
4ox (weight) uncooked or 8oz (weight) cooked is only 10g net carbs.
That's a lot of pasta - and certainly much more than the not worth eating 1/4 cup (volume) of regular pasta.

Hi Lynne -- nice to meet you! Welcome back, and I'm glad you're here :-) .

I have to deal with peer pressure at work -- we have these birthday cakes once a month, and I can just feel everyone's stares as I pass on it every time :-( ... I know myself, and one taste of sweets turns into a binge. I'm getting a lot better at staying firm and doing what's right for me. Good for you for getting to that point too!

Whoops -- sorry for misspelling your name, Lynn! Unfortunately, looks like the "Edit" link is missing from our own posts (has anyone else noticed this too?) -- otherwise I would have corrected it :-) !

    Have a good day!

EDIT seems to be missing just in this forum or this topic... It appears to exist else-where, though.

Lynn I can relate to your story, it took me 5 years to just do it despite everything and anyone else, but I too am back and doing well! My DH is now all for me eating 'my way'. Congratulations to you!

Hi Linda, welcome back! I've been reading your blog. Your garden sounds wonderful. Sorry to hear about your recent bout with hypertension. One of the things that brought me to the Zone was high blood pressure that was not responding to medication. I'm happy to say that it is no longer an issue. My doctor took me completely off the high blood pressure meds within 2 weeks of starting Omega Rx. That was over 10 years ago and my BP continues to be great. Just last week at my Dr's office it was 112/68. Glad you're back. Good luck!

Hehe you've been reading my blog? Thanks for the kind words about my garden. It's a work in progress. I am hoping once I can order the OmegaRx that I too can get off the meds - they don't make me feel all that great as in the cure is worse than the disease! Of course we know it really isn't the cure - the cure is in the diet and the fish oils...

    Thanks for the welcome John...
