    Hello
I am a boxer and i am working out about 3 hours per day. I take 3 capsules of omega rx and 1 of eico pro. There is a week now that i feel a little strange somehow lightheaded and i can't focus my self. I don't even remember well the combination s i have to work during training. What should i do to feel focused again as i always felt when i was following the zone? Do you think a cutback in the gla or to increase half a block of protein?

Not knowing what you eat or how much, it would be difficult to offer dietary advice re the lightheadedness. Re your fish oil dose in this case, you may need more GLA, or a bit less EPA (total fish oil), or both.

That;s why someone should always post first in the forum before making any changes.. I thought that i should reduce my gla consumption and from 3 omega rx and 1 eico pro capsules to take 3 omega and 1 eico rx .
So with your advise i shouild take 50-50 omega rx and eico pro?

Basically I'm steering you toward the info to focus on in order to make the determinations for yourself (I know very little of your details, such as your history, your wellness level for fish oil dose determination, possible recent changes to your eicosanoid status, and more).

Lightheadedness and mental fogginess indicate an eicosanoid imbalance. Diet, fish oil dose and GLA can all play into this. For more insight into whether you need more or less EPA and GLA, use the Eicosanoid Status Report in the Resources section of DrSears.com.

    Good luck!

aah, i've been having the same problem as Alexander here. last week i bought (regular)fishoil, been taking double doses, heard that was smart, i felt unfocused and a bit dizzy last week! might the amount of EPA be the reason?
in that case should i buy another type of fishoil that cointains no/less epa?

    Daniel,

If you think it's the fish oil, go at least 7 days without taking any fish oil and then resume at a lower dose. The 7 days is because fish oil has a long half life (stays in your body a long time) and you want to give it some time for rlevels to begin to lessen a bit before you resume supplementation (to prevent your dizzy and unfocused symptoms from recurring, if they are from the fish oil). This has been Barry Sears' advice to me in the past. Once he advised me go 3 weeks without taking any fish oil, and then resume at a lower dose.

    Good luck!
