Ok,I am new to this as I've said, so I need help with something else. If 2/3 tsp is one fat block for olive oil, then what is 3 fat blocks of olive oil total in measuring spoon terms?? I don't have a 2/3 tsp measuring spoon, and I don't know what 6/3'rd's is in lamens terms. Does anyone know??? And also, Is it ok, to coat shrimp with the olive oil b4 cooking it? The olive oil won't loose anything will it? I don't mean to sound dumb, but I don't do a lot of cooking or measuring, so I'm a little unfarmiliar when cooking in the kitchen.
Thanks again for all your help!!!

    Hi Stephanie!

2 tsp olive oil = 3 Fat blocks

I'm sure a bit of the olive oil is lost while cooking, but I don't think much -- I would count it all, but someone else here may have a more accurate answer.

    Hi Laurie and Steph,

1/3 teaspoon is 1 block of olive oil (1.5 g); 1 teaspoon is 3 blocks (4.5 g); refer to the Zone food block lists. 2/3 teaspoon is appropriate if your protein is fat free. The Zone block lists in THE SOY ZONE show double fat block amounts, as compared to the lists in the other books, because many of the protein sources recommended in THE SOY ZONE are fat free.

    To clarify:
    1/3 teaspoon is 1.5g fat.
    1 tsp is 4.5g fat.
    2/3 tsp is 3g Fat.
    .
Some see 3g fat as 1 block and some see 1.5g fat as 1 block.
    .
You need 3g Fat for every 1 block (7g) Protein.
    .
Some say 1.5g Fat is 1 block, because except for rare fat-free protein sources, all protein has some fat.
