This has to be the slowest site to post on. To go from one section to another, takes too much time. Perhaps Zone needs to devote more server space for the Forums. I log in quick. But when I hit "Community" it lags. Then when I hit "Forums" another lag. Then if I want to post, I get booted fromt he site. I post at other forums, newspapers etc. never experienced a situation like this. Improvement would be greatly appreciated. |

I have been struggling with the same issues. In addition, I have seen many posts of mine that didn't actually post because of the lag time, and I am getting frustrated with it. I don't have all day, I have lots of other things to do, too. |

are there moderators that work for thr Zone? They should be monitoring the boards. They should deal with system problems, answer technical questions and Zone diet questions. Refer resources as needed. |

I know that there are moderators, they do occasionally pop in, but it is rare, and probably has been months since the last time. Yes, it would be very helpful! |

Well, I finally got a few minutes while away on business in Las Vegas. And logging in on a very efficient, very fast Linux OS with FireFox on an IBM ThinkPad T61P, dual-core processor with 4 GB RAM on a fast connected LAN/WAN. And though connections to the rest of the inet is fast, these forums, while slightly faster than at home, still have latency problems (some slowness). Just an FYI. . (Flying home tonight at 10 PM and arriving in NH at 10 AM Friday.) |

John, hope you had a nice time! How much "business" did you get done? Are you coming home with a bankroll? LOL! Yes, still slow here, too. Sometimes, I think it must be my equipment, but you definitely know your stuff with regard to computer systems and processors. I can't tell you how many posts I have attempted and lost because they "timed out". It has become a habit to copy the text so that I can try again--especially longer posts. |

Last Year I took $5 worth of Quarters, dumped them into the money Pit (Slots), won nothing, walked away - never to waste another cent (wooden or otherwise) - just to say I tried it. No interest for me, - so this year didn't even waste 1 penny... Thanks for asking. . I also did well on the food part. A coworker from Boston area also eats healthy, so we split a cab ride $10.00 each) to and from the grocery store (Von's) - I spent about $40.00 worth of groceries, he about $56. . Asked for refrigerator in room ($35) - They charge for everything in Las Vegas! Ate a decent breakfast all week, good dinner all week, and good Lunch on Saturday, Sunday, & Thursday. . They provide Breakfast (did not participate) and Lunch on Mon-Wed. However, breakfast consists of pastry and juice and coffee. . Though Lunch had great salad and vegetable and lo-fat meat selections. . And all on $40 per day per diem, I think I did well. (We'll see what scale and measurements say tomorrow!) . Cheers |

I was at a conference that happened to be at a casino hotel. I set a "budget" and called it an entertainment expense, but basically I only spent $20. My plan was to walk around, enjoy watching others, spend my $20 and then go back to my room to watch some TV (they didn't have a pool, otherwise I would have been in there). I dropped the $20 in a machine, and I had almost spent it, but then hit a jackpot. Got back the $20, so I cashed out and went to another machine. I pocketed the "winnings", and just kept circulating the $20. Each time I won something significant, I would cash out, pull the $20 out and pocket the rest. I kept doing this until I had finally spent the $20. ' It took several hours, and when I was finished, I had just over $200 in my pocket. But, I generally don't go to casinos at all, and if that place had a pool, I would not have risked losing the $20 in the first place. So, for your breakfast, sounds like you ate what you picked up at the store? Good plan. I would not do well on pastry for breakfast! |
