There is an article in the Telegraph, UK that metions him. "World's fattest man to disclose his diet tips" Paul Mason surpassed Mexican Manuel Uribe, 43, more than halved his 90st weight to get married. No mention on Uribe's diet. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/new...-tips.html

    From wikipedia:
A stone is a unit of mass in the Imperial system of weights and measures used in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and most Commonwealth countries. It is equal to 14 pounds avoirdupois, or 6.35029318 kilograms.
    .
Though no longer an official unit of measure – in medical and other technical contexts kilograms are used – the stone remains almost universally popular for use in Britain and Ireland as a means of expressing human body weight. People in these countries would normally describe themselves as weighing, for example, "11 stone 4" (11 stone and 4 pounds).
    .
It was also frequently used in the past for weighing agricultural commodities. Potatoes, for example, were traditionally sold in stones or half-stones (14-pound or 7-pound quantities).
    .
    .
My wife is Brittish, so i am used to converting Stone weight. Though, after 24+ years of marriage, she rarely, if ever, measures in stones, now.
    .
    .
    So 90 stone = 14 x 90 = 1260 pounds.
    .
Mr Mason, 48, now weighs 49st after shedding 20st to make him eligible for gastric bypass surgery, but is still believed to be the heaviest man alive today.

Found this from "News Around the Globe":
    .
Some sites have reported it incorrectly that Manuel Uribe died, a wave of rumors about Manuel Urbie’s death started when another man named Jose Luis Garza died of heart failure back in 2008, who lived near Manuel Uribe in Mexico and reached out to him for help, his death was widely reported over the internet and most of the people assumed that Manuel Uribe Died as Jose Luis Garza was also fat like Manuel Uribe.
    .
Whereas recent reports shows that Manuel Uribe is in exceptional health, according to the doctors of 1250 pounder Manuel Uribe he does not have any kind of diseases normally related with fatness such as blood sugar, cholesterol and blood pressure. He does not have any of the diseases and he is not diabetic also. The only problem associated with his weight is circulation issues in his legs.
    .
Manuel Uribe gt married back in October 2008 with Claudia Solis, TLC showed a special program under the subject of “World’s Heaviest Man Gets Married”.
    .
Manuel Uribe is working on his website nowadays “Manuel Uribe Foundation”, which will educate others about the health issues, healthy eating and how to lose weight safely. He himself choose to follow a healthy diet plan instead of losing the weight via weight loss surgery and according to most recent reports he lost more than 500 lbs following that diet plan.
    .
If you have any recent news regarding Manuel Uribe please post it in comments so that information can be altered.

    .
MONTERREY, Mexico - The world's heaviest man still can't walk, but he will soon be able to roll. Manuel Uribe said Thursday he is having a 1989 Chevrolet Astrovan outfitted to support his record-breaking weight, giving him mobility after more than six years of being confined to his bed.
    .
Uribe earned the Guinness World Record as the world's heaviest man in 2006, when he tipped the scales at 1,230 pounds. He claims to have since shed more than 500 pounds after making a public call for help.
    .
Uribe, known as Meme to his friends, even has a name for his new ride.
    .
"My friends call it the Meme-Mobile, just like the Batmobile," he said.
    .
The minivan is being converted into an open-air, flatbed pickup of sorts. Manuel says he will put a bed on the back of the van to drive around town, with his new wife at the wheel. When at home, he will hang out in a remodeled garage that will include a forklift to help raise his regular bed up to the level of his car bed, allowing him to switch locations from time to time.
    .
Uribe said that, with the new car, he plans to start up an auto parts business. And Uribe's wife, Claudia Solis, said the two are even thinking about making a trip to the beach in May.
