Sorry, but I just have to post this. I have been away from these boards for a very long time, and was excited to see the new foods (particularly bagels!) that are now offered through Zone foods.

I am reading so much criticism of these foods. Although I started off on the Zone, I am now on an eating plan I find much easier to follow, The Insulin Resistance Diet; however I still read all of the Zone books, use the recipes, and believe the philosophy behind the eating, because the two plans are similar in that they always link proteins to carbs.

I too have insulin resistance and need to always link my protein with my carbs. Some days I feel better than others. I don't think food is a miracle, no matter what foods we choose or what plan we're on. Some foods will always make us feel better than others. In fact, depending on my physical condition, I can eat the same exact (zone friendly) foods two days in a row and feel different levels of hunger both days.

I think Dr. Sears should be applauded for expanding the foods available to us. I plan on purchasing these foods, not expecting any miracle cures, but using them as needed, in accordance with my plan.

I guess I just don't understand all the criticism I'm hearing.

    Sheryl,

Much of the criticism has to do with the food, and IMO is not ever intended to be directed toward anyone who chooses to use the food.

I am one who has spoken out some criticism against the products, but I had decided to "put my money where my mouth is" and try some products for myself before dishing out any further criticism. I have done so, and I am not having the miraculous results that others are having. I don't feel as well and definitely not in the Zone when I eat the foods.

Everyone has a right to speak their opinion, and not everyone will agree. One of the wonderful things about this forum is that we are all free to say what we feel as long as we don't bring along inappropriate content. I happen to feel that the differences of opinion is what makes this a very interesting forum to participate in. If we all felt the same way, I think it would be boring! And, I also think that it is healthy for people to think outside of the box.

I am glad that you posted that because the same thing happens to me!

Happens to me all of the time. I only wish I knew why. Same with the Superzone foods. Some days they hold me a little longer than others.

LOL, I think we are "3 peas in a pod"!

Today, Superzone held me fairly well, right up until mid-afternoon. Then, NO MORE! I had a couple slices of toast, but it did NOTHING for me, even though my previous 2 meals seemed to work just fine earlier. UGH!

It is so frustrating!! I am trying to take a little more fish oil to see if it helps with hunger.
