    Hi all,

I know we've each had our frustrations in one way or another with the Zone Forums. We were discussing this in another thread, and I thought it may be worthwhile to start a thread of "Zone Forum Tips". If you come across a feature, or figure out how to do something helpful in the Forums, please post here so that we can all benefit from your creativity and experience!

    Thanks!

Ok, so my first question in this thread -- how do we get those cool icons to appear to the left of the Subject in the list of topics in the Forum? For example, I see some topics with a question mark, others with what looks like a flame (perhaps for "urgent"?). I've been looking around, and don't see where I can designate that when I add a topic, or edit a post.

    Thanks!

Sue's given me the ok (thanks Sue!) to copy her following post here:

"Does anyone (Sue?) know how to add extra pictures at the bottom of your page? (Like the way Sue posts pictures of her meals). Thanks"

Hi! Go to Photobucket, set up an account, make an album there, and last, edit your signature in your profile here to include the photo link of you choice from your Photobucket album. It's very easy. Oh, and use the Photobucket link address the begins with a href="http:// (they have 4 or 5 types of link choices under each photo, and I think the one I finally got to work for here is the one labeled HTML code).

Laurie, the option to do that is no longer appearing when you begin a new thread.

Thanks, Sue -- yes, now that you mention it, the threads with the icons were started quite a while ago ... :-)

I have never been able to get "my forums" to work. How can I get it to work?

The quote feature does not work very well, although I have seen some people get it to work right. Any clue on how to get it to work?

Hi Cran -- what happens when you click "My Forums"? It seems to be working for me -- all threads come up that I've posted in at one time or another. Threads that have been updated since I last opened them are bolded. Not sure if there are other features I should be looking for.

Hi Cran -- I just tried it with this post ... let's see if it appears as expected ...

Update: HA -- guess not! Links don't work for me, and emoticons rarely do. I think it's somehow related -- the HTML tags are getting replaced with that other "div" stuff.

When I click on "My Forums", I get a blank page - however, that's because I hadn't tagged any of the forums as My Forums. Though I never looked at figuring out how to tag, because I never tried, and don't care to. But it might be possible to do - if that feature is turned on, though many features in these "new" forums were NOT turned on nor enabled.

Ah, ok -- I don't recall doing anything specific to tag threads, so I suspected it may be a setting my my profile. I think I've found it -- go into your profile, and then click the "Edit Profile" link. Scroll to the "Preferences" section, and check the "Subscribe to Topics" box. I believe all topics you've posted in will then be listed in the "My Forums" list. Although I suspect it isn't retroactive -- you may only see the topics from this point forward.

I don't know if it still works (I haven't tried it in quite a while), but when you could, to view the threads and forums you were tracking you'd click on "Supscriptions" in "My Profile". When I go to the Supscriptions page, I still have lists of things I was following, and the ability to delete them from the lists (click on the "X" to the right of each item), but that's all. The most recent on I had on my list was for about 15 mos ago.

I have tried altering the settings in my profile, but nothing changes it.
