I am quite upset! My local grocer used to carry Darigold cottage cheeses with the pro-biotic cultures.
I am lactose intolerance or some kind of milk issue, and I am only able to eat yogurt and THIS exact cottage cheese. It was so absolutely perfect for adding protein blocks. You know, sometimes you just don't want to eat meat every stinking meal/snack! Yuck! And I've learned that one block of eggs is all my stomach can tolerate per day. And don't tell me tofu or soy mock meats.
I've talked to my grocer who said they aren't sure they can bring it back. I've talked to Darigold to see if they can ship it to me! (They cannot.) They said that grocer should be able to stock since it's something to do with Western Family brand which they carry.
So I found another food that has pro-biotics added and that's Heini's Cultured Cheese make with yogurt. I don't know if I can have it yet without stomach issues. Lactose free products don't work for me however, so I cannot use them for protein. I hope this cheese works. I'm paying alot to have it shipped here!
BTW what is the difference between "1 oz. Cheese, low-fat" (fair) and "1 oz. Hard Cheeses" (poor)? What cheeses are they talking about? Or is this just low fat vs. regular cheese?

Ooh, I just thought - maybe I can mix yogurt with regular cottage cheese and hope the yogurt's cultures are enough for me to handle the other dairy!!!
Which has more cultures - Greek yogurt or regular yogurt? Or are they about the same?

Not sure about which has more cultures, but you could start with an Organic yogurt?
