My zone foods arrived yesterday. I ate a bagel this morning at 9:00 and at 12:00 I was really ready for lunch so the fastest thing I could think of was couscous. It cooked in water, some olive oil, and a seasoning packet for five minutes. I added chopped cherry tomatoes, a bit of sea salt, and some finely chopped celery and mint leaves then piled a cup of the mixture over the superfood flatbread. How bad or good was this -- anybody know? I should have waited a couple of days until I had read more to start this, but I dare anybody to not be itching to get started with tools like these sitting in front of you. Anyway, if someone could tell me where I went right or wrong I'd very much appreciate it as I have enough left over for a second quick meal when I need it. Thanks for your time.

Evelyn, when you say couscous, I'm not sure whether you mean regular couscous or SuperZone orzo. If you topped SuperZone flatbread with regular couscous, then the meal won't be anywhere near a meal that will allow you to be in the Zone (too much carbohydrate). If you topped the flatbread with SuperZone orzo, you probably did less damage, but it's still not going to allow you to be in the Zone because you would have eaten too much food at one time. You can begin by using the sample 2 week meal plan that came with your order until you've figured out how to do the SuperZone plan on your own. I'll be happy to help if you have more questions. Good luck and enjoy! The food is fantastic!

Sorry. I was talking about regular couscous. I just found the two week sample meal plan, and after searching the website I realized I could have shot myself in the head and probably done as much good for myself as eating that couscous. Oh well. I'm going to slow down, order a few more items, and follow the two week plan. Thank you for taking the time to answer my query. I've been a mess for this long -- a few more days won't matter to get this right. Fed-ex will cut the delivery time to a minimum.

I pulled the two-week diet plan from the superfoods box to order the extra items I mentioned and found a sheet telling me to refrigerate the bread items. I opened the box yesterday afternoon so the items have not been refrigerated for over 24 hours. When I noticed they were cold I looked for something that said to refrigerate but did not notice anything. I would recommend a notice in bolder letters rather than a sheet that looks like another advertisement. In any event, have I ruined the bagels, flatbread, and pizza crust? Croutons weren't listed, but they are technically a "bread" item. What about them? Finally, when they say to freeze anything that won't be consumed in the first seven days, I am assuming the packaging from Dr. Sears is freezer safe and no additional protection is required. Correct? Thank you for being there.

I'd say they should be fine Evelyn, as long as you refrigerate them now. I've never refrigerated the croutons. I assumed they meant the soft breads. I also assume the packaging to be fine for the freezer, since no further instructions are mentioned. Usually when I've put SuperZone foods in the freezer I've placed several of the same items into a single Ziplock freezer bag, just for convenience so I can see what I have left at a quick glance. I've also put some things into the freezer just as they are, no extra freezer bag , and they were fine. I haven't frozen any of it for more than about 4-6 weeks (it gets eaten up fast at my house!).

If you bought orzo, try the "Orzo with Squash" recipe. It's a favorite at my house. We had it for dinner tonight. Orzo with roasted balsamic veggies is really good too (using frozen veggies easiest). We love the orzo, and you can make a delicious SuperZone orzo meal, complete with veggies, in only 10 minutes.
