With the holidays coming up in the next two weeks, I thought it would be fun to share out favorite Zone tips and recipes for party foods. They'll help to turn your next two solid weeks of eating into two weeks of weight loss in the Zone.

Here's an easy and delicious recipe that's a favorite at our house:

    Bacon Wrapped Scallops

Wrap slices of turkey bacon around sea scallops using 1/2 to 1 slice per scallop, depending on the size of the scallop. Secure with a wooden toothpick. Broil just until the scallop is cooked through. These would pair very nicely with the gazpacho shooters found in the SuperZone recipes.

Does anyone else have a favorite to share?

Back in the ol' days when the Zone promoted veggies, they had printed a really good article with some holiday recipes. Among the recipes was one for a barley stuffing, and another for roasted brussels sprouts. I have never tried the stuffing (and no longer have the recipe) but I bet the recipe could be found by searching.

The brussels sprouts is pretty easy, you can use fresh OR frozen, put in a pan, drizzle with olive oil, season with some garlic, and roast. Last time I did them, I used frozen (which are not that big) and they shriveled up into small balls, but OHHHH were they delicious!

Yes, really. SuperZone includes lots of veggies just as the original Zone does. If you take a quick look at the SuperZone plan, you'll see it states as follows "Vegetables: Enjoy unlimited amounts at any meal!". For more details you can refer to the SuperZone recipes and to this page: http://www.zonediet.com/SuperZoneFo...fault.aspx

You can also add up to an ounce of protein to any meal, and eat generous amounts of condiments every day (many of the condiments listed are monounsaturated fats).
