I am writing to tell the members of this community about an interesting hot cereal recipe I have posted at www.aDoctorsKitchen.com . It contains both steel cut oats and whole hulless (a.k.a. hull-less) barley, the grain with the lowest glycemic index. You can make a big batch of it on the weekend (it takes a long time to cook!)and then you can make little cakes out of it for breaskfast every day for the rest of the week. You can fry them in a little healthy oil (mcadamia nut is my first choice) and eat them with an egg white omelet or tofu or any protein you like. My cereal recipe is followed by the recipe for the cakes and there is a cooking demo showing how to make them. I hope you will view all of this at http://www.adoctorskitchen.com/arch...hot-cereal .

Wonderful! I saw on your site a while ago that this recipe was coming and having been waiting with anticipation! Barley recipes are far between IMO so I've been excited about this new twist on steel cut oatmeal containing barley too.

    thanks for sharing with us

I'm thrilled to hear that there's another hot cereal enthusiast out there. I think you'll love the breakfast cakes that you can make with the leftover cereal. Please let me know what you think.
