I've only tried the multi-grain bagels so far, and have to admit -- they really do keep me satisfied much longer than other Zone-favorable foods. I have to be very careful with the carbs I eat -- many trigger cravings for me. So I've been very cautious about trying the new SuperZone foods. My problem is late-night cravings, and last night I had them big time. Around 1:30 am, I had a multi-grain bagel with 1 wedge of Laughing Cow light cheese. I was already at my 11 blocks for the day, and it put me over by 2, but that's far less "damage" than I would have done had I given in to the cravings. Anyway, the bagel knocked the cravings right out (filled me up too, but with cravings, even being full doesn't help). So wanted to pass this along -- the price is too high for me to eat them regularly, but I will always have them in the freezer for "emergencies" such as last night!

That's great Laurie. I love the satiety I get with SuperZone food. The offer excellent appetite control. Try eating a bagel, with a little bit of topping or deli meat, for dinner (ore a pizza, sandwich or pasta), and see how well it keeps you in the Zone for hours later. That might prevent your late night cravings altogether.

I'd love to see muffins! They would be great as a 2 block snack.

Matt, Can you please share your recipe for the 40-30-30 choc chip cookie? I ordered the plan and multi-grain bagels, white bread and choc chip cookies. The order should arrive tomorrow and I am looking foward to sampling the new products!

Second try for the bagels...much better with lower fat cream cheese than olive oil. I am still waiting on the rest of my SZ order. I also tried the new cherry flavor shake. Not bad at all. And so far I am not having an adverse reaction to the sucrolose. Also, I tried Zone Protein Powder in oatmeal with a little yogurt and skim milkand a little birch sugar. Wow!
Very filling...for HOURS....and NO CARB CRAVINGS.

Sounds good Jesse! Remember to include some monounsaturated fat in the oatmeal, yogurt and protein powder breakfast.

Super Zone cinnamon bun review:
In a word: Wow! I placed it between a napkin and popped it in the microwave for 25 seconds. It was very good!
Now let's see how my hunger is in a few hours.

That is too funny, Sue.
I didn't get hungry for at least 3 hrs, but I ate a small lunch anyway.
Can't wait to try the other foods/snacks.

I love not gaining weight during the holidays!!

That's great Jesse.

I didn't gain over the holidays either. In fact, since I've been eating SuperZone foods my clothes have been getting looser and looser, and I'm feeling better than ever!

If you haven't tried this yet, warm the milk chocolate chunk cookies in the microwave. They're to die for!

We're beginning the New Years Eve festivities at our house tonight with SuperZone pizza (white pizza crusts). I'm making cheese pizzas, some including low fat spinach and asiago chicken sausage (Member's Mark brand for Sam's Club).

Happy New Year!

Review: Multigrain sandwich bun: added 2 slices of turkey breast, salad greens and a little oiive oil and a little salad dressing. Tasted great except for the olive oil. I still don't like olive oil. Also was forced to eat one cracker with a tiny piece of summer sausage and tiny piece of cheese. I also had 20oz bottle of filtered cold water. I was still hungry after eating and continue to be after 2.5 hrs. Maybe it was the other "stuff" that threw me off.

The cinnamon bun I had for breakfast lasted about 3.5 hrs.

Jesse, could be the cracker. All I need to do is eat a little unfav carb and I end up getting hungry later.

Actually, I would not blame it on the cracker. IMO, it is only one cracker, balanced with some protein and plenty of fat (considering the fat in summer sausage and cheese).

On the other hand, if you're a person who happens to be very carb sensitive, one cracker or 1/4 slice of bread, even when balanced with apppropriate P and F, can be all that's needed to take you out of the Zone an hour of two later. Could be related to your previous meal or meal timing, too.

Jesse, also, I found that I didn't do as well when adding legumes to a SuperZone meal. But, I've only done that once, and it was a purchased ready made 3 bean salad. It very well could have been that it contained too much sweetener for me. I've done great when adding 2 or 3 T hummus, for both meals and snacks.

Well, I think it would be pretty difficult to assign blame to the cracker, especially with only ONE experience with that meal. Don't you feel that you really can't assume success or defeat on only one meal? Another thing that strikes me is that Jesse said "forced to eat" the cracker with the sausage and cheese. Why would that be? Was Jesse not satisfied with the meal and felt that more was needed? Hmmm, maybe Jesse ate the cracker because the "superzone" meal was not in Jesse's zone.

Just my opinion...but I am not a big fan of judging meals based on only one experience with it. There are so many other factors that can affect a meal, not just what was eaten.

Let's try not to over think this without really knowing what Jesse meant...

Well, I guess we have a difference of opinion. You don't even know what kind of cracker it was! (neither do I, but lets be realistic, some crackers will work better than others--are there such things as superzone crackers?).

And, cracker or no cracker, I think that the more important issue to address is the fact that Jesse was not satisfied with the sandwich alone, otherwise the cracker/sausage/cheese combo would probably have not been considered.

LOL, glad you are enjoying my posts : )

Evidently, you must be agreeing with the other concern of Jesse's meal satiety, or else you would probably have posted some disagreement to that...

Not sure what you mean, but I'm simply taking Jesse's info as given, not agreeing or disagreeing with it.

Guess you must have been giddy on the cracker-cracks!

Jesse said "Also was forced to eat one cracker with a tiny piece of summer sausage and tiny piece of cheese.". Although I don't know exactly what was meant by that, I assume that it didn't mean that someone was physically forcing a cracker down Jesse. There must be some other reason why Jesse was compelled to eat the cracker/sausage/cheese. It is my observation that this statement meant that Jesse's superzone meal was not satisfying, which "forced" Jesse to eat the cracker.

Comments?

I posted several days ago regarding the "forced to eat a cracker," but it never made it to the board.
Anyway, I was rofl laughing at the responses. I knew I should have explained being "forced" to eat a cracker.
It was simply a matter of not wanting to offend someone else that had offered it to me after they had put it all together for me. Besides, he is big enough to hold me down and feed it to me.
I don't know if it was the cracker that made me hungry or not.
And by not being satisfied I mean that is doesn't always fill me up. But it does taste good.
Sometimes the SZ food is filling, sometimes not so much. I seem to do better when I add fiber.

Maybe my metabolism is changing and I am requiring more calories? I do high intensity weight lifting about 3 times a week and that can include high intensity body weight exercises after the weight lifting session.

LOL! Thanks for the added information! Glad it wasn't force-fed to you!

I understand what you mean by "not satisfied". I have had that where I will eat a meal and be "full" but somehow not satisfied, and it doesn't really have anything to do with how tasty the mealis. I think it could actually be something that could relate to your previous meal, too. As for me, that is sometimes the case if my previous meal wasn't quite on the money, then I have trouble staying satisfied into the next meal.

Definitely keep a record/journal of your meals and responses, and you will find the answer. Or post it here. It is difficult to judge ONE meal, but easier to see patterns if more info is provided.

Hello,

I've been reading a couple of forums and I'm impressed how some of you looked. I'd like to direct an awesome compliment to Sue with the photo album of the recipes that you made. When I checked out some of the recipes that are in the book, I'm sure glad that what I made doesn't turn out "magazine perfect" like some of many cookbooks I've seen. My finished meals turned out pretty good close to the photos that you, Sue, made them look easy but the recipes read difficult for me but the finished meals looked similar. Thanks, Sue.

I see that there is a bit of a competition between a couple of Zoners and I'm glad that a 'Newbie' cleared it up. I wouldn't want to come back to the same forum if it continued. Thanks, Newbie. This website is about support, Cran, am I right? I would like to come back to this particular forum because of the other Zoners' reviews on the products. So much for liking your posts, Cran. ;>
