You, too - Sue! And everyone else! Try to be good! (I know I am trying right now but I'm craving a nice big pizza right about now!) Think I'll go get the mini pita out and make me a Zone pizza and a salad! Jill

Thanks Jill. I made a batch of Zoned chili on Friday (yummy stuff!). I took it to the fireworks last night and will bring it to the lake today. I heat it just before we leave and put it in a two cup wide mouth Thermos. Keeps it nice and hot for hours! We'er going to a huge family picnic today. I'll do their lunch (grilled chicken and all kinds of salads, so I'll be easily able to Zone it) and my chili at dinner (theirs will be hotdogs and tons of desserts left from lunch. Sue

And don't worry, I'm not going to be eating chili tonight that's been in a Thermos all day. They have a microwave there. 8) Hopefully I can keep my distance from the desserts! :D Sue

Sue: Sounds great! I did not go down to the VP Fair this year for fear I would eat funnel cakes! :-) I have been stuck inside my home for two weeks putting up wainscot and painting and wallpapering, so I have to make myself stop and eat! But I'm in the zone and feeling so much better when I do! Jill

Yes, ift feels good to be in the Zone doean't it. It's the only dietary change I've made where I can actually say I feel a lot better. And I thought I was feeling just fine before the Zone. Well, except for some spacy feelings I'd have daily, which I didn't know were related to carbs in my diet. All day on the 4th, at the picnic, I was able to stay away from the desserts! My husband and I made an agreement before going there that we'd both skip desserts and chips, pasta, etc. Somehow that worked, for both of us. As I ate my chili for dinner, while everyone else had leftovers, two people commented " I wish I was eating what she's eating!". (They thought my chili smelled really good.) :D Sue

That's wonderful that your hubby has agreed to join forces with you. That is my biggest problem here. When I first met my hubby, I was 113 lbs. I don't think my BF was in the 20's! LOL I played lots of sports, and I came from a household that ate health food. I was pretty much a vegetarian, except I ate fish. Then I met my husband, who comes from South St. Louis, where everything is FRIED! LOL He was not slim, but he was not overweight. But then I met his family! OMG - I now saw why he had such problems. My mother-in-law, the only way I can describe her, is the mom on Everyone Loves Raymond. She was like a little Italian woman (not so little anymore) saying Mangia Mangia Mangia. She got hurt if you didn't eat three helpings of everything! And his dad was a regular ole German who drank beer and ate pumpernickel bread with cheese and butter every night. Needless to say, my husband is very obese now - so much so, I am afraid for his health. Well, here's liberal little me, who eats Turkey burgers, and bean spouts, and tofu, and carob! Hahaha! My husband made me my first steak! LOL And he introduced me to cheese fries at Steak and Shake! Hee hee - and it's been downhill ever since. Only when I developed diabetes, did he say ok, we should do something. Except it was me who did the doing! LOL I've lost the same 50 lbs. now four or five times in my life. But he won't stop buying the "stuff" that's bad for me! Wish I never tasted those foods! :-) But it is ultimately up to me to choose better - and I am trying again, after the most stressful job and this water leak that stressed me out! Anyway - that's wonderful that you and your hubby stick together! I wish I could get mine to see how healthy I was raised, and look for the alternatives in food! Jill
