    Hello
I am 170 pounds and i need to drop down to 160. My body fat is 6-7 % and i am a boxer working out 3 hours daily. I consume a total of 6 tablespoons of olive oil daily. Should i eat a lower amount of olive oil to drop those pounds? If i do i will have lower energy levels? Last one is it true that if athletes don't consume enough fat from food they can't loose body fat because it is used for exercise?

    Hi Alexander:
You're in tricky territory. You have very low BF and trying to reduce it further will be complicated, and I'm not sure if it will be good for you. The fat you ingest for energy is not stored, as far as I'm aware. Keep your carbs-protein balanced and your body should still burn stored fat. Bear in mind the following: If you go into starvation mode, where you are burning more calories than you are eating, your body will start converting to fat and storing everything you eat and taking its energy from your muscle, which means you will start weighing less (muscle weighs more than fat) but you will become weaker as you have less muscle. However, losing some muscle might be what you need. Use the Block calculator to determine how much your BF weighs, and then see if the % you need to lose drops you below the 5% BF level, I would suggest you be VERY careful. Furthermore, my recommendation would be to lose some muscle to drop the 10lb you need. You will need your upper body strength so all I can think of is losing some leg mass, gaining resistance instead of strength - Slow Twitch muscle is smaller and oxygen powered as opposed to the fast twitch muscle. This is all hypothetical on my part, I'm thinking as I'm writing, so please take it all with a grain of salt
Other than this I really can't think of an easy way out. You already have very little BF and dropping it further will be difficult. It all depends also how fast you need to drop the weight. The more time you have the better to try different things.

Why on earth would you need to drop down to 160! In doing so, you will need to loose some muscle mass being as you have no fat to lose. Losing more fat would be dangerous for you. Not sure how you will lose muscle mass, but that is what you will need to do in order to lose 10 lbs. I feel it is pretty dangerous.
