Most people say I'm in pretty good shape According to this I'm borderline OBESE! I've been weighing myself every day for a week and I haven't gained or lost an ounce, however, my clothes are fitting a little better. Dawn, Please don't be so hard on yourself! Obsession is not a good thing. The great thing about the Zone is that it allows you to feel healthy, eat healthy and get healthy without obsession, because mental health is important too! You are worth eating right, so give yourself time. Don't worry, it will happen. It's taking me longer than most, but the journey is worth the effort, so I will continue to plug away. You can do it! (Ignore your scale for a little while, and just go by how you feel. I really find that I do much better when I do this!) Good luck! ronica 8)

As long as I don't gain weight I'm a happy camper. And yes I am feeling better! However, I don't believe I'm 36% body fat. I'm 5'9 and 165lbs. I work out almost every day with moderate weights. Maybe I measured wrong. But..thanks for the encouragement. I intend to stick with it. I just ordered that "Zone meal in seconds " book. I couldn't find it in any of the stores down here in Fort Myers Florida, so I finally just ordered it. I saw that you're a music educator!! I've been playing violin since I was 9. Cheers to Music! Dawn

Estimating the # of lbs of fat is pretty eye-opening. It is an estimate, though, and I suspect it may be more accurate for some body types than others. When I started on the Zone, I was 42% body fat according to the waist/hips/height estimate, and 38% according to an actual body fat measurement (I'm part of a diet study so they are testing %body fat as one of their data points) Both are pretty scary #'s, of course. After 7 1/2 weeks on the Zone I've lost 19 lbs. I had my % body fat measurement taken today - hopefully it's lower.
