Hi Everyone!

Trader Joe's has their fresh apricots back in the store this week and they're delicious! They're grown in the US and are especially flavorful, with both a sweet and tangy taste. Apricots are one of the most Zone friendly fruits. They have a low GL and they're loaded with beta-carotene (Vit. A), vitamin C and iron.

Another one of my favorites is Trader Joe's Guacamole Hummus. It's low fat and all fat it contains is provided by the avocado in it. It's very Zone friendly and sooo good! Try using it for dipping with Zone Sesame Pretzels. This makes an excellent snack :-)

Sue, thanks so much for listing these foods here.  I cut and paste them until I had a very long list, then looked to see what I might want to try out that I hadn't noticed before.

My Trader Joe's has a new product, at least it's new in our store:

Healthy 8 Chopped Veggie Mix, which is a mixture of green cabbage, red cabbage, green bell pepper, broccoli, radish, celery, jicama, & carrots (very little of the last two).  It's so yummy in a stir fry!

3/4 cup has 6 grams carbs & 2 grams fiber

Hi, the veggie mix sounds very good.  I’ve been buying their fresh Organic Ranier Cherries for the past few weeks, the yellow ones.  Delicious!  I like the soaps at TJ's too.  They're much less harsh on the skin the others.  I use "...Next to Godliness" (lavender and chamomile liquid hand soap), "French Liquid Soap, Orange Blossom Honey" (hand and body soap) and a large bar of exfoliating soap contains almond oil and oatmeal.  I like the "...Next to Godliness" (tea tree lavender) dish liquid too, as well as "A Midsummer Night's Cream, Extra Dry Formula" (hand and body moisturizing cream, unscented, herbal blend with aloe).

Hi Everyone,

Here's a spur of the moment 4 block meal I threw together for my husband last night, kind of a clean-out-the-fridge meal. This orange yogurt is something I've never made before and it was just heavenly.  So delicious!

Salad: Chopped Romaine lettuce topped with a block each of strips of low fat Muenster cheese and rosemary ham, olive tapenade, and drizzle of red wine vinegar, a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and a little sea salt and some fresh ground black pepper.

Dessert:  Mix together 1 cup low fat plain yogurt, 1 Valencia orange chopped into large bite sized chunks (juice and all), a little alcohol free vanilla, a tiny squirt of blue agave syrup (that's optional; he can handle a little extra carbohydrate) and a dash of nutmeg.

All the ingredients came for Trader Joe's, except for the vinegar, nutmeg and agave.

Hi Everyone!

Another TJ's favorite at my house is "Trader Joe's Mild Salsa" (16 oz container of fresh salsa).  You can find it in the refrigerated section near the hummus.  It's a good all purpose salsa a lot of flavor or a mild salsa.  We like to use it as a dip for toasted Zone 1-2-3 flat bread.  For tonight's dinner, I tossed it with Zone fusilli, extra virgin olive oil, fresh ground black pepper and one twist of a grinder filled with Himalayan pink salt. Delicious!
