    Hi everyone

I've just posted the first part of my question (losing momentum) in the weight loss section and am here with a different question.

It's about my partner who has been doing the zone for the last month or so. Generally he's been feeling pretty good and 'clean' which is great however our question is about exercise.
He currently does 2 (sometimes 3) football training sessions a week. These can be 3 - 4 hours long in duration. On other days he may do a light run but doesn't do any specific weight training.
When I started him in the zone (I'm fairly new myself) we had him at about 14 blocks a day.

First question - he is currently 143 pounds with (according to block calculator) 12% body fat - and told to have 13 blocks a day. The other day at the doctors he was accessed at 7% body fat and told to put some fat on!!

How can these measurements differ so greatly and which do we work with. I really don't know how many blocks he should have.

Secondly - we come from a background of 'carb-loading' in terms of understanding what our bodies need for exercise. He is not an elite athlete but a big plate of pasta sees him through a training session far better than the meals of light protein, or beans that I've tried giving him beforehand.
I've read a lot on this subject and am slowly appreciating the science - but for him on a personal level the carbs seem to work better.
Any thoughts? Could this just be habit?

    Thank you in advance
    Rachel

    Thanks Sue.
I've just responded to your other post. These articles are very interesting. We'll just have to keep trying.
I'm still not sure why his blocks are coming out at 13 though? Thought he'd need a lot more than that. An average male is supposed to be at least 14? Should I just go with that (14)?

    Thank you again!
    Rachel
