Tech support, any informatin you can provide would be great, too. Also, how many grams of gelatin should I consume per day? I have 7.2 grams of gelatin (which adds up to 4 grams of protein) per little package.

Products in Britain are often the same, just relabeled for USA.
And vice versa.
Products in USA are often the same, just relabeled for Britain.
.
I just checked my ox of KNOX Gelatine.
It is spelled the same as yours!
(I have it around, useful when I make my own Yogurt.)
Though my box says the serving size is 1/4 envelope (SILLY marketing!!!)
2 g P so 1 packet is about 8 g P
(rounding errors occur due to US laws allowing manufacturers to round up or down.
This is why serving sizes are often unrealistic, at least on USA labeled packages.
So Marketing can choose a serving size, no matter how unrealistic,
to make their product favorable as they desire!)
Any way, I digress - you have the same gelatin as we get here.
"Gelatine" must be KNOX's name for the product.
But the ingredient is the same, gelatin.

If I read the post, correctly.
It appears that 1 packet per day should be fine.

Thanks, John, for confirming that it's the same thing, that it's just a minor spelling difference.

And ...

My one package has a total of 4 grams of protein, a bit over 7 grams of getalin.

Your one package is 8 gms P. Don't know how many gms of getalin.

So I should have 2 packages a day then?

These packages come in a very small box .. . maybe that's why? Or ... ?

Yeah, they do round up or round down or however it is to "look good," I know ... lol

Sarah, if you've recently lost the weight, it may also change a bit given some time.

Thanks, Sue! That's good to know. :-) Thanks for being reassuring. But, looks aren't the most important ... just that I don't want a big flabby stomach at the end of the weight loss process.

Sue, I'm not sure how fast I was losing the weight ... I wasn't paying attention. I was struggling with about, it turns out, 6 or 8 different health problems which influence each other ... I'm feeling a thousand times better now though ... getting there ... this is my fourth day on 2.5 grams of OmegaRx plus Seahealth Plus, I take 2 capsules, split them into the glass so the liquid is released, pour one tablespoon of SHP into it, as well as other things (turmeric mainly).

So 2 capsules after bkft, 2 capsules after supper.

My stools float sometimes ... sometimes sink. But are formed fully thus far.

Also ... Does anyone know HOW to drink/eat the gelatin(e)?

The instructions say that one envelope of Knox Gelatine will set 2 cups of liquid. Do I, like, have to do that--set it so it's firm--before I eat it?

Or just go ahead, pour it into a cup of water, and drink it ahead of time, before it's set?

Also, are there tasty ways of doing this ... ??? A kind of a pudding, or, I don't know, I do like Bengal tea, so I could try it with that ...

I need very clear explanation of how to go about doing this ... and also how many grams of protein and/or how many grams of gelatin I need per day ...

THanks!!!!!

Sarah, I'm curious. Why not just swallow the Omega Rx capsules whole?

My understanding was that releasing the liquid into the water/seahealth plus would help make it easier to emullify the too-large fat molecules.

As far as the gelatin(e), I recall CeanCat stating she just used to pour the powder from the envelope into the blender and then drink her smoothie.
No witing for it to set.

I e-mailed her to check on her - she just said that she is in a very busy time at work.
But, I am sure she appreciates you asking about her.
Also, she is in Florida, I believe, and no idea which part.
They might have gotten some rain or a lot of rain from Hurricane Isaac.

Hey, guys, I'm fine! Just trying to get the kids ready for school to start, squeezing in some end of summer activities, work is busy, and have been trying to get the miles on on my bike. Other than that, not much going on...LOL!

My leg is fine. No further signs of infection, and just some nasty scarring.

Hi Cranberrycat,

Awesome! Phew, too, as it WAS a concern ...

Now, gelatin ... you just dump it into your smoothie and drink it straight up right away?

No need to wait for it to set?

And, how many grams of plain gelatin does one need per day?

I don't use plain gelatin anymore, I usually add protein powder to those smoothies. However, I believe that it was in a recipe in "Mastering the Zone", it was a smoothie recipe that called for plain gelatin. Nope, you just add it, you don't have to let it set up like you do in jello recipes.

As far as how much one needs, I don't think it is a "needed" ingredient. I used it for an additional source of protein.

And, thanks for your concern! I will have to make sure that I give fair warning next time!

Today, last day of the "official" summer vacation for my kids, so we are thinking of driving over to the Merrimac Ferry, and then will see what other interesting things we can see/do over there. The ferry is a free ferry that travels over the Wisconsin River, in a spot of the river that is quite wide and there is a lack of bridges in this stretch of river. Fairly close to Madison, and so the communities in the area are kind of like bedroom communities for Madison. Although, the ferry does not operate in the winter, so those people have to go the long way to cross over at the bridges. I have seen the line for the ferry go VERY long on weekends, so it is really more of a tourist item, than a conveniece, as we waited about an hour to get across! They have an ice cream stand on one side, which does get good business.

And in closing out the summer, my wife who really does not see the point of going to the beach and lying on the sand, with the sun shining, and a light off-shore breeze gently blowing, with the waves crashing against the shore - relaxing and cathartic.
Well, we gave our son and his love a break, as they are (were) moving this weekend, by bearing the "burden" of watching our only grandson (20 months) and taking him to the beach, today. Shes said, "I must be getting older, I really enjoyed today!"
No, dear, it was the cute grandson, factor.
.
At which point, I reminded her that her parents (Mother mostly) could not be bothered to come over from Leeds, UK to see us when we got married,
BUT, once we had their first grandson, they booked a flight as soon as they could!
.
Anyway, I digress. Very relaxing, bring our own Zoned lunch, day.
And $6.00 for parking for a few hours, not bad.
.
YES, spot the shameless proud Grandad - here's a link to the photo's.
OKay, back to your regularly scheduled Zone Topic.

We did, Thx!
And we topped the day off with a fantastic Zoned meal with both of our sons, our daughter-in-law over.
Some grass-fed burgers, a huge salad, mostly from our garden, and my wife's infamous (indulgent treat not Zoned) NY Cheesecake,
but it did have a grain-less crust (a recipe from Elana's Pantry, a website CranCat posted about in early summer. keeping the unfavorable carbs down to nothing, except the 4 oz of Red Wine. But with the cream cheese in the CheeseCake, Fat was high.
Better some high Fat than high empty carbs. So, all-in-all a great meal topping off a wonderfully pleasant day and 3-day holiday weekend.
