Hey guys, new here. I consider myself pretty fit and very active, trying to make the transition to the Zone system while maintaining my busy lifestyle.

Are there any applications for the iPhone/iPods that have block calculators, recipes, fast food breakdowns, etc? I'm trying to put together a list of "fall back" meals that I can eat on the go if I neglected to plan ahead.

Tom, I suggest that you do a search of these forums to see if the topic comes up. I do remember someone posting about an application some time ago, but I am not familiar with it at all.

I just wrote an iPhone app you might be interested in. It is called In The Zone and is intended to help you follow the Zone Diet. It just got into the app store this weekend.

I took a nutritional food database and broke the foods down into single-block serving sizes. You can also add your own foods to the database. The idea is that, with that database, you can then use the app to create your own meals by adding in different single-block food items. You can log the meals you eat during the day to get a total of blocks and calories consumed.

I'd be very interested in any feedback you might have to make the app better.

I like to thank you for making an app for the iPhone. As per your request I'd like to make a few suggestions.
    1. The interface should be a little more seamless. For instance many apps use the rolling bar for category selections. For example breakfast, am snack, lunch etc. could be on the first bar. The second bar could be food category selection such as proteins, fruits, vegetables, nuts, etc. That way the particular food could be found in the database much faster.
    2. When a food is added to a meal it should do an automatic calculation of fats, carbohydrates, and proteins with a rating system on the quality of that particular food such as one star for a poor choice and 5 star for excellent choice.
    3. Foods should be listed most used category. When typing in your search a burger king or something sandwich comes up. My suggestion for foods such as eggs since most people eat them fried or scrambled or boiled is least these first making it user friendly.
Finally the easier it is to use a program without a lot of explanation the more customers you will have downloading and paying for your product. I would have rather paid $10 for a program such as I described above than $1 for the program I received.
I hope this will inspire you. I sincerely hope you have great success with your app.
