    Hi!
This is my first post here! I'm a Warrior/Fighter wannabe and I'm looking for the best diet for me as I go further into my training. Since I started with the zone diet I have been feeling much better! But!

I would like to lose my fat and I have lost the most part of my bodyfat but today I did the bodyfat calculator here at zonediet.com and it looked like this:

    Body Fat %: 5
    Body Fat Weight (lbs): 8
    Lean Body Mass (lbs): 147
    Daily Protein Requirement (g): 147
or # of Blocks of Protein: 21
    # of Blocks of Carbohydrate: 21
    # of Blocks of Fat: 21

I'm really not sure I have so little body fat! I do not look like a bodybuilder at their "on season"! I still have "a lot" of fat, at least 10-15lbs before I look like a bodybuilder on stage. My goal is 145lbs and staying there and after that only work on my cardio, strength and endurance. But this chart makes me worried. I now weigh 155 and have only 10 pounds to my goal (has been 55lbs 6 months ago).

I feel I have more fat on my back, chest, stomach, thighs, butt and face, yes everywhere. I was hoping that when I was at 145lbs my bodyfat would be 5%. Is this calculater very accurate or only a avarage. On my body fat scale at home I have about 15% bodyfat.

    My questions:

    1. Can I still pursue my goal at 145lbs? I feel I have the overweight to do it and I personally think all weight over the essential fat is overweight and I don't want it, never more than 5-6%.

    2. I think I will need to ask some questions about training on a high level on the zone diet in the future, Is this the place to do it or are there any other places with experience and expertise?

    Thanks!

This is probably the thread where you want to be. I can't help you with training, but there are others who are more knowledeable that can help you. Have you clicked on the links for the elite athletes? You can find it at the right under "popular links", or at the top under "fitness".

As for your body fat, I wonder if you put in the data correctly or not? Your intuition may be right. You can check your data against other calculators, there are quite a few available if you do a google search.

I have heard that the body comp calculators all have a wide range of variation. I think I remember something like as much as 8% off. Calipers are slightly more accurate depending on who administers the test. I think the water test is the best but not cost effective.

Most of them are consistent to them selves though. As an example I was using the zone calc. I was around 18%. I tried one of the scale BF units. It had me at 25%. As I dropped some more weight they both consistently dropped.

As far as training & the zone there are a lot of individuals over at CrossFit who use the Zone and or Paleo methods while training at intensity levels similiar to a fighter.

Much of the info on this site is geared towards endurance athletes and the Zone.

    Good luck!

Yes so I've noticed. But I hope that will help me to I want to be as allround as possible.

I will go with my guts on the body fat and shrink a bit more and see how it feels!

    Thanks!
