[quote:9823b9dbdb="4mcbjCtr"]Can you have carbonated beverages at all while zone dieting?[/quote:9823b9dbdb] At All? is a wide open question. You can have anything while on the ZONE. Because you are always the next meal away from getting back into the zone. However, look at the high Carb (sugar) levels in most 12 oz cans of soda! Think of the Zone as a lifestyle and not a diet. And soda's and diet soda's are not recommended. They are mostly sugars or sugar substitutes - all (sugar) carbs and NONE of them favorable. Of course you could always have 25% of your carbs from a meal with unfav carbs, if you really wanted to have a little soda. There has been a lot of discussion here, in these forums, on the [b:9823b9dbdb]diet[/b:9823b9dbdb] soda's, and a lot of references to articles concerning the long-term adverse health effects of consuming the diet soda's with their sugar substitutes (including Stevia). Do a search through the forums for them. My wife read a couple of them, and has, since, not drank any soda. I, myself, drink almost 100% water (always have, so Zone no great hardship, there.) The exception is carbonated water, with a dash of lemon/lime.

No one understands how I can do it, but it's very normal to me. I do drink a cup or green or herbal tea most days, but I consider these technically to be water. Sue 8)

I take that back, many, many, many years ago, as just a lad of 17, working as a dishwasher at a high-filutin Restaurant on New Year's Eve - washing thousands of glasses .... - I had about 17 cups of coffee! First, last, and only time I touched the stuff. Don't even like the smell of it, which bugs me lovely bride. I have a 54 oz insulated cup, I have with me most days. Ice lasts pretty long in it, too. I hear that Dunkin Donuts now has a 64 oz insulated cup. I may just have to invest in one of those, as well .....

Ditto on the coffee, except for the part about 17 cups in one night. Luckily I'm married to another non-coffee-drinker. Sue PS I prefer my water w/o ice, but when I'm out on a hot day I'll keep it in an insulated bag with a little ice pack. Warm water.......bleeeh!

I've been on and off it for nearly five years since too much will throw me out of the Zone, so I stick to that 1 mug. Just switched to [i:c136a3b28f]free trade[/i:c136a3b28f]---boy is it good....

When I was how quickly you'd replied to that Starbucks post, I thought to myself "Hmmm.......Scott must be a coffee drinker!" Sue

My last vestige was to give up my beloved root beer floats on a sweltery summer evening. They taste soooo gooood, but they took me out the zone in a flash. Worth it? --NOT!
