Is the Zone Diet sufficient without additional supplements? |

Yes, it should be. There should be no need for additional supplementation, as long as you are eating a well balanced and varied selection of veggies, fruits, low-fat protein, monounsaturated fat. Only one supplement that is suggested, IMO, and that is the fish oil. |

Hi Jerry! It woud really depend upon on your individual needs in regard to your state of wellness. If a person has deficiencies that are not being fully addressed with diet (Vit D for one example), supplements will be of great value. |

I would definitely put the Vitamin D issue aside, because it is very unlikely that northerners are able to get adequate vitamin D year round. But, that is not a deficiency caused by the Zone. And, I don't think Jerry's question had anything to do with one's level of wellness. Obviously, those who are already deficient and are not well will need to consider supplements. |
