Gosh, I hate to whine, but... I am struggling so much with hunger. Is there something about eating really low carb (Read: Atkins, Protein Power) for a period of time (4 months) that makes it harder to be on the Zone? The first time I did the Zone, I was almost never hungry. I ate the Zone as it was written, without dropping or adding anything and was only really hungry when I ate mostly unfavorable carbs. Now, it doesn't seem to matter how favorable or unfavorable, drop a carb, add a carb, drop a fat, add a fat, you name it, I think I've tried it, but I am SO HUNGRY! Any advice you can give me would be really appreciated. I believe in this way of eating and I just don't know what to do. Thanks, Carrie

Are you drinking enough water? I have read that a lot of times people mistake being thirsty for being hungry. Whenever I feel hungry between meals I make sure to drink a lot of water, or I make a cup of decaf coffee, it helps get me through. Monica

I try to drink 2 liters minimum per day in addition to herb teas and decaf coffee. A few times a week I will have 1 cup of caffeinated coffee in the morning (my 12-hour shift starts at 6:30). Should I try to drink more water than that?

There are so many variables, it would be difficult to advise you without knowing exactly what you're eating. Also check to be sure you are eating the appropriate amount to meet your LBM and activity requirements. Sue
