Hi I'm having trouble with meal preparation because I don't cook and spend zero time in a kitchen. Do you have any sugestions of how I can stay in the zone and out of the kitchen? Are there any prepackaged zone meals non-cooking meal recipes? |

Stella: Kitchen is not a bad place to be. It is not your enemy either. To be in the zone, I would recomend you to reconciliate your feelings for that space in your house... that can help you a lot to have a great life. There are of couse many non-cooking meals, but eventyally it will be better to learn to do basics in kitchen. If you ever raise kids, they will do as you do... and fast food will not keep the healthy, nor you. Wish you the best in the zone... try it, and you will love it. |

Hi Stella!
Cooking isn't necessary.
Try these:
chicken caesar salad with an apple for dessert
a salad of tuna, chick peas, tomatoes and cucumbers and/or green peppers, on a bed of romaine lettuce with 1 tsp olive oil and 2 tsp vinegar as a dressing and berries or grapes for dessert.
deli-style turkey and hummus roll ups, a bag of already cut fresh veggies, nuts and fruit for dessert
cottage cheese topped with berries and nuts
1 1/2 cups of plain yogurt mixed with vanilla extract and peanut butter (delicious!)
Use your imagination to come up with lots of other meals!
Dr. Sears Zone shake and bars both make a great breakfast, lunch or dinner. There's Dr. Sears Zone cereal ,too, which only needs milk added to it. If you want, you can also add a littleit of fruit on top.

You're welcome! Look through the lists of Zone snacks in Quick Start Guide (link at right) or in any Zone book. Three times the amount of food in a Zone snack equals a 3 block meal. You can also mix and match 3 1 block snacks to make a 3 block meal. It's that easy! Also look at lunch recipes, too. Many of those don't involve cooking either. You'll have the best results if you remember to include plenty of veggies throughout your day. Have fun with it Stella! |

Stella, if you are not afraid to microwave, you can buy frozen meals from Cedarlane foods (www.cedarlane.com). They have a line of Zoned meals, which are approved by Dr. Sears (he worked with Cedarlane to develop). Anyway, they are hard to find in stores, but you can order online. A bit spendy, but might be an option for you. But, I would stick more with the kinds of meals that Sue suggested. I tend to side with things are are minimally processed. |

Hey Jeanine! The selection in my area of the country has been very limited, and now I don't even see them in the stores. Of the ones that I tried, I believe that there was a spinach feta pizza that was pretty good. However, on the other hand, I also remember trying an omelet, and I didn't really like it all that well (probably used to my own home made omelets). I have seen the selections that are available online, and of them, I have not had any of them. And, a bit too expensive for me. Let us know if you happen to try them, and how you like them! |
