Hi - I was an avid zoner when it first came out almost 10 years ago. It is the best way for me to eat, but I fell off the wagon big time. I am one month shy of being 49 and I decided to go back on with the intention of being healthy for my 50th b-day next year. The good news is I know the program. The bad news is I am female, 10 years older, and 45 lbs heavier than I was when I was on the zone before. I think I have more muscle than I did then as I am doing Curves and yoga regularly. Any tips? I feel better already, but would appreciate any comments from others who have re-entered. Will it work? Thanks! Kim

Hi, I've been eating this way for almost 9 yrs and although I never went "off" so to speak, I have needed to adjust to stay in the Zone. I'm 3 yrs older than you, and attribute most of my need to adjust to the hormonal changes of menopause. I began menopause almost a yr ago but had to begin adjusting my Zone a couple yrs before that. I'm carb sensitive anyway, but seem to have become more sensitive. I have to really watch it with fruit choices(even apples and oranges, which are favorable for most people). My tip would be to really concentrate on how you feel. If you need to adjust don't be afraid to try all kinds of different things until you find what works (types of carbs, amounts of carb, amounts of fat, etc.) A food diary can be really helpful while adjusting. Once you find your particular Zone needs, the extra fat will easily come off. Welcome back! Sue

Hi I did the zone 9 years ago and have returned now. I'm 40 and was almost topping out at the my heaviest weight. I've lost 9 lbs the last 5 weeks. I feel great and I am so happy to be back. I am doing better than I ever did the first time. You'll do great, too. Welcome back to craving free, hunger free living! Lynda

Thanks for the encouragement!!!! I have weighed in at Curves at exactly the same each month for a year (have lost a few inches) so it dawned on me that if I could hold at my current weight I could hold at a lower weight. I will adjust as needed. I guess that's the other thing about having done it. I'm not as afraid of doing it "wrong" (although I certainly did go WAY wrong for a few years LOL!) Where can I find the FAQ about loopy vs. focused that someone referenced on this board? Kim
