I have been doing extensive research into various home ellipticals and have settled on Fitness Quest's Eclipse model. However I am trying to deterimine which "make" to get. The options are 1100HR/A or 2100HR/A. Both have the same features. The only difference is the 2100HR/A has a longer base frame. I have been trying to find information on the benefits to the longer base frame. Does it provide a larger range of motion? Does it make the elliptical more sturdy? Basically I'm looking for all the technical specs on why it was designed bigger and I haven't been able to find what I'm looking for. I looked at the manufacturers website. I found a small snipped that the orbit (stride) is larger on the 2100 however I'm critical of this information because if the flywheel is the same how can the orbit be different? I am 5'6" so from what I've read I'm on the verge of needing a wider stride path. Both of these machines list an stride path of 15" (orbital). I thought maybe someone in these forums would know the answer or be able to point me in the right direction to find an answer. I've looked online for 4 days now and called several local fitness retailers with no luck. Below is the specs on the two models and websites with more info. Any information anyone can provide will be appreciated. Also, I have to stay within this price range, if you have suggestions on other models to look at please keep the price in mind. I can't go over $450. I'm greatful to know I'm not the only one who doesn't know the answers to these questions. I'll keep looking and post what I find for those who are interested.

Yes, I e-mailed them and called them. The CSR simply stated the "even numbered models have a wider stride" but couldn't explain any further. By "even numbered.." I was confused and she never did explain further but I figure she mean 2100 instead of 1100 (the 2 being the even part she was referring to). I never have received a response from the e-mail. I haven't found any other information nor any comparable models in the sime price range so it looks like I have no other choice. Oh well..I guess that's what I get for having to buy a cheaper model.
