Hello, I'm a 25 year old woman with mild PCOS ( although after seeing 4 doctors, nobody wants to diagnose me with it, but I believe I have it). Anyway, I'm currently taking an antioxidant formula, super B complex, multimineral, R-alpha lipoic acid and evening primrose oil. I was thinking that the only thing missing was fish oil but then I read that it could increase blood sugar levels. I would like to know which dosage to take? Most people have recommended 3 grams a day. Is this ok? Should I use flax seed oil instead? Also, I live in Quebec, Canada. My health food store carries Natural Factors Fish oil by Dr. Murray. It's 30$ CDN for a 120 cap bottle so much much less expensive for me than OmegaRX. Is it a very good brand? Thank you! |

Have you read the OmegaRxZone? Regarding the relative merits of fish oil brands, you could do a forum search on this controversial issue. Others can offer more help.

Hi Tip Toe,
Great name particularly on this topic.

As Charlie has said Reading Omega rx is the best way to learning more about Fish oil and other suppliments.
ALL ultra refined (high Quality ) Fish oils are subjected to independant International Fish Oil Standards.
You can view the test results of ALL the suitable products at www.nutrasource.ca from the home page you click IFOS and the test results are freely available.
Natural Factors have yet to have any of their products tested however at www.pgfo.com you can get a certified product at LESS than the natural Factors price in Canada.
I should add that in Canada the fish oil MUST contain a din (drug identification number) as issued by health Canada.

Thanks for your replies :D
The ClearWater Brand looks very good. It's too bad that Natural Factors doesn't have a DIN or hasn't tested their fish oil yet because it's readily available at my health food store. I wouldn't have to order it online. Plus it's about the same price as Clearwater. With Natural Factors you get 120 caps for 30$ CDN plus tax and with Clearwater you get 90 caps for 26$ plus shipping. The Omega 3 product from Ehn Canada is also good but much lower in EPA and DHA so you have to take more caps. Choosing the right fish oil is harder than I thought :x hehe |

I would go for the Clerwater brand definately, if I were you. I'm in the USA, and ClerWater is more (S&H - and who has $200 free to spend to get Clerwater shipped at lowest S&H cost...) therefore, NF is much less. So ..... |

well I'm not sure anymore if I'm going to order Clearwater because they charge 20$ shipping. So that's a total of 46$ CDN for 90 caps compared to 30$ CDN for 120 caps of Natural Factors fish oil. The woman selling Clearwater told me that the price of her product is so inexpensive that she has to make a profit from the shipping. Sucks :( |

It is best to get the products that show the test results on line. However, if you are going to buy Natural Factors anyway, then check out iHerb.com for a very low price. |

If you checked the promotions page i gave you, you would see you can get 540 caps of 500mg pgfo delivered (anywhere in the world) for US$ 69
so whats that in canadian ? about $92 ?
this is equivilent to $40 for the genuine article compared to the $30 for health grade at the local store. ThePGFO bulk prices are far cheaper again. (much lower than your health food shop)
As always, the choice is entirely yours.
