I used a raw carrot as a carb blk yesterday for a snack. I cut it into rounds and put it in a measuring cup. It looked like about 3/4 c. .....it was just a medium sized carrot. Was it a blk? |

Hi Janet In the latest book - Toxic Fax - one block of carrots is 1 cup shredded. I am sure I saw on the site someone said it was 1 medium carrot so you did have 1 block. Margaret |

Interestingly, regardless of whether they are favourable or not according to Barry Sears, I've learnt I cant eat much of them ... they make me hungry afterwards. But then again, oranges, apples, etc., do the same thing for me ... so it really depends on how carb-sensitive you are ... Alexy |

LOL! I have an update for you, I had posted this on a new thread, but must have forgotten that this thread was out there! Anyway, I had written in to the Zone Chat, with several questions as to why carrots were still listed as unfavorable carb on this site, when they were noted as favorable in the Anti-Inflammation Zone. A few days ago, I got the answer, and it turns out that Sears is going back and calling carrots a "high density-eat in moderation" carb. |

Thanks, CC, for letting us all know. That's helpful. I think carrots are confusing because they have tons of fiber, I think. Kinda like cabbage. But they are also very sweet so they trigger a stronger insulin response anyway. Alexy |
