A company called Birdseye makes meals for two that you place in the microwave and steam for 10 minutes. I looked at all the different meals they have and it seems as if the Asian Style Chicken Vegetable Medley seems close to the zone. Please, if you have a moment, take a look at their page (it wont let me copy and paste!) As far as I can see on the nutrition label, it looks as though there are 3 p, 3c, and 2 f, so just add a block of fat? I'm just not sure if the noodles in there are 25% of the unfavorable carbs? thanks!

    Kerry,

I looked at the website, and I don't really know... I think that there is a lot of carb in there that is probably unfavorable. Sure, there are veggies, but there's the noodles and the sauce, too. Yes, add 3g of fat, to balance it out. You could try it to see if it works, but generally those frozen meals are not packed very tight with the veggies.

So, you can definitely balance this out, so that it has the correct zone ratio. Just not sure if it will work due to the unfavorables.

Thank you for your input. I think I'd like to try it and see how I feel afterward. I'll let you all know when I try it.

Kerry, I used to eat this before I went gluten-free; however, back then you had to add your own chicken. It is delicious ... definitely more veggies then noodles (used to upset me because I wanted more noodles!). The thing is the sauce, like CC mentioned. It's a lot of sugar, and I think it will send you OOZ. Maybe you could try it and come up with your own version without so much sugar.

Sorry to read you had the flu, Kerry. Hope you are feeling better! Smile!

That is a great thought Karen! I think I will try to make my own! That way, I know for sure it is zone friendly.

Wow, Kerry, you really had it bad! Big sad face. I'm so glad you are feeling better, but take it easy so that those little buggers don't come back!

Kerry, I'm feeling great now, after getting a few days of sleep when I got home! You don't get any rest in the hospital! I can't believe that it was just a week ago Wednesday (1/14) that I got sick so fast in the afternoon and was in the hospital at 2:00 a.m. Thursday. I really thought it was going to be the end of me ... I was vomiting mucus so hard that it was coming out of my mouth and nose at the same time - I couldn't breathe! I had the chills soooo bad that I couldn't stop shaking. My normal temperature is 97 and it was 103.4 when I was admitted to the hospital. Actually, I probably got good exercise from the shakes! LOL! Geez, never thought I'd feel this good again!
