I made this the other day and it turned out wonderful. They are full servings sure to fill you up. Could someone please verify the block protions I setup? All the ingredients barely fit into my crock pot (but it didn't overflow!) and be sure to resist the urge to add some liquid as the vegetables will release alot of liquid. Its best to use fresh ingredients but I used brozen broccoli florets and it seemed to work OK. The chicken will crumble when cooking. ZONE CHEATER’S CHICKEN CACCITORE DINNER – 16 BLOCKS 16 Protein 16 ounces boneless, skinless, chicken breasts, cubed 6 Carbohydrates & 4 Fat 4 cups Ragú light spaghetti sauce (I got this directly from the Nutrition information) 2 Carbohydrates 4 1/2 cups bell pepper 2 Carbohydrate 3 cups mushrooms, sliced 2 1/2 Carbohydrates 5 cups broccoli, chopped 1 1/2 Carbohydrate 3 cups zucchini, sliced 1 Carbohydrate 1 1/2 cups chopped onion 1 Carbohydrate 2 1/2 cups chopped celery 12 Fat 4 tsp olive oil Spices: 2 tbsp minced garlic Oregano, Basil, Rosemary to taste In a large pan, sauté the onions, celery and garlic in oil until transparent. Stir in the spaghetti sauce and spices. Simmer on low for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Place chicken in the slow cooker (crock pot). Top with the vegetables and spaghetti sauce. Cook on low for 7-9 hours. Yield: 4 – 4 Block Servings

Hi, Sounds very good. I'll have to try it. Since you asked for verification, the carb counts you list on the broccoli, zuchini, and mushrooms are overestimated (see the Food Block Guide on this site). I wouldn' t change it, but maybe add some chickpeas, or kidney beans, or have fruit with it to round out the balance. Sue

I would like to know how I'm off so I can correct my recipe for future meals. I can't increase the crock pot ingredients but maybe I can do as you said and add a salad before the meal or some sort of fruit for desert. I just need to know how many more blocks to add in. Thanks! If you try it let me know what you think.

Also, thanks about the suggestion about using the Food Block Guide on this site. I searched and found it. I didn't realize it was available on the site, that would have helped me when I initially created it. Time to do some math...

Hi, Glad you found the Food Block Guide. I think using it makes puting together a Zone meal simple, whether it be a meal for one or for a whole family. Sue

OK, here's my edited ingredients list to match more closely: 16 Protein - 16 oz skinless, chicken breasts, cubed 6 Carbohydrates & 4 Fat - 4 cups Ragú light spaghetti sauce 2 Carbohydrates - 4 cups bell pepper 1 Carbohydrate - 4 cups mushrooms, sliced 2 Carbohydrates - 6 cups broccoli florets, chopped 1 Carbohydrate -1 cup chopped onion 1 Carbohydrate - 2 cups chopped celery 2 Carbohydrate - 4 cups zucchini, sliced 1 Carbohydrate - 1/2 apple (or other 1 carb block fruit for desert) 12 Fat 4 tsp olive oil And, this should still fit in my crock pot. Does this look more "zoneful" (I'm a little obsessed with staying in the zone when I cook...its the only way I can keep myself motivated)
