Anyone have guidence on how to adhere to the Zone diet and keep in mind a strict family budget? Particularly how to utilize the foods that are in season. Are there resources put out by Dr. Sears on maintaining a Zone diet that is budget friendly?

We are JUST starting a Zone diet lifestyle, and need lots of guidence.

You can take the food guide with the favorable food list, go through it to find foods that are in season now, and then build your meals from those foods.

I shop for sales at the store, you can catch chix breast on sale, as well as other lean meats. When an item goes on sale, stock up on it.

You can save a ton of money on frozen veggies, they are less expensive than fresh AND they are already prepped for you!

In winter, seems as if NOTHING is really in season, but you will see some things go on sale now and again. The trick when buying fresh produce is to buy enough but not too much that it spoils.

We have had a few recent threads on this topic, so if you do some reading, you will find lots of other ideas on keeping to your budget.
