    Hello,
I am Spanish woman and i don´t Know in English. I write through a translator automatic. Forgive me if I express wrong.

I am 46 years old and have begun pre-menopause. I do not want to take Hormonal afraid because their side effects. My doctor advised me hormone therapy because it says that I run the risk of osteoporosis because I'm under 50 years and I'm very thin.

4 years ago started the diet in the area because he had a health problem. Now my health is very good.
Is it useful to the diet of the zone against osteoporosis?

Tengo 46 años y he comenzado la premenopausia.

    Hola!

Yes, the Zone is useful in prevention of osteoporosis. Weight bearing aerobic ecercise and strength training will also help.

Also, your automatic translator made a couple of small errors. You might want to try using a differnt one.

Gracias por tu ayuda, he traducido tu respuesta y te he entendido bien.

    You're welcome Lopez!

Yes, google's auto translator should be a good one. It had summarized some of what you wrote rather than including all the info. Fortunately I understand a bit of Spanish (better than I speak or write it) and I happened to catch that and another small error.

He visto tus fotos Sue y tienes una bonita familia.

    Hi Maria!

I hope you can understand my reply in English!

Thanks for the compliments about my family! Our children are ages 32 (hija), 29 (hija), and 22 (hijo). I'm also a new grandma! Our little grandson was born 4 weeks ago. He was born 2 months early and is still in the hopsital.

I should put some new meal photos in that album but, I can't find the time to do it!

I will not take hormone replacement therapy either. I'm a breast cancer survivor, I've had melanoma, and I have mild osteoporosis. My doctor (endocrinologist) is in favor of my diet and is treating my ostepoprosis with nutritional supplements and a strength training program that has been clinically proven to increase bone density.

I've heard that Mallorca is a beautiful place!

Thank you! You have plenty of time to be a grandmother! The good news is that my little grandson is coming home from the hospital this week. They live very far away from us, so we won't be seeing him again until Christmas.

It sounds like a good idea to ask what type of upper body strength exercise you could do. I do some strength training with weights and also do Yoga. Both are helpful for upper body muscle development. Do you take fish oil? It can help with arthritis, as I’m sure you have read in the Zone books. Since you mentioned are doing the Zone to help your arthritis pain and other health concerns, I’m assuming that you do take fish oil. That’s great that you no longer have the alopecia. Being thin is good, as long as you are careful to eat enough good fats and not go too low in body fat.
You’re lucky to have nutritionists near you who know the Zone. There really aren’t a lot of doctors and nutritionists in the US who are familiar with the Zone. I happen to go to a doctor who knows of the Zone and agrees with that type of diet, though I know much more about the Zone diet than he does. Most doctors here have never even heard of the Zone.

    My best to you!
