I'm quite new at all this but see that it makes more sense than any food/ drug regimen from the 70's & 80's. I live in NSW Australia & wonder whether anyone (& I see there are quite a number of Oz people posting on these forums) knows where I might be able to have an AA/EPA ratio done. I realise that it wouldn't be subject to a medicare rebate - but do we have the technology? Alternatively is it possible to send the blood O/S? This also raises the question of whether any of the labs would be willing to draw the blood & send it. Apart from my own health concerns I have a sister with MS & a brother with Type 2 diabetes. I have been associated with pathology labs all my working life (ended 2000) & have never seen a request for it here (in Oz). But it does seem to be worthwhile doing... to get a baseline at least. :?:

Perhaps you could pose it on another forum, or maybe tech can answer ? White Light

Thanks Whitelight! :D I have emailed info@drsears & had a reply to the effect that it was virtually impossible to send blood overseas & that they were working to make the test available here ASAP. This could of course be 10 years hence. Out of interest - do you have it in NZ? Thanks again for your interest Barbara

Hi Barbara, I phoned them directly and they gave me their web site: www.yourfururehealth.com Its very interesting to read. It explains many blood tests and you can book an appointment on line ( for when you are next in The States). As I understand it they have many outlets in US . They (and the web site) explained that the test is quite difficult and it is not done anywhere else but US. I was hoping to follow up with some more research to find out what they actually tested with the idea in mind that perhaps we (in Oz) could get some other tests done and then calculate the ratio for ourselves...but havent gone down that track yet.... Actually I've been developing my zoned ice cream all afternoon! Having a bit of fun after a very busy three days.I have posted it under cooking tips if anyone is interested? Too hot in Sydney to be energetic to-day, 39C, 103F, No thats not Carbs and fat blocks that's degrees :) Have a good day! cheers Top
