Hi, i'm quite new in the diet Zone, I've been for 2 weeks in the zone and i'm doing well (I have lost around 3 lbs), i'm also taking two capsules of Hydroxicut Hardcore (Fat burner) previous to my workout. My question is this supplement is helping me or is keeping me out og the zone? Tks |

drop it or drop on the floor of a heart attack. You don't need that to lose weight safely. |

I would dump them immediately. The risks outweigh the good. They may help anybody lose weight thew first time, but again, not worth the risks.
Follow the zone, exercise and you won't need them. |

Man, I remember when I first started liftin', coincidentally it was around the time I discovered Enter The Zone. EAS was big then and everyone was taking creatine with 30grams or so of dextrose - a big insulin releasing sugar! I wrote Barry Sears a letter asking him about various sports supplements (vanadyl sulfate, hmb etc - this was around the year 1995 or so). He (or someone) wrote back and basically stated that those sports supps were not needed on the Zone. Well, I was like 20 or so and since everyone was saying how well the sugar/creatine combo worked (and it couldnt have been they all just started lifting, huh?!) I said heck yeah, the promise of huge muscles was too much to pass! I had been following a strict Zone Diet for at least 6 or 7 months. I downed the stuff and remember feeling like absolute garbage. I wasn't used to all that sugar or all that insulin for that matter! I couldn't even load it for a week! That was a big mistake, LOL! Turns out you can take it without the insulin spike for a month and achieve the same results. Anway, regarding Hydroxycut, I think it has a lot of caffeine in it and if I am not mistaken, too much caffeine can increase insulin levels. However, like anything else don't over do it. |

I don't think that anything that speeds up your heart rate (chemically) is recommended. The point, I thought , of the Zone is for the body to do this in its own way! |

You should never put chemicals like that into your body. They are very dangerous and unnatural. I had a friend who took hydroxicuts before a workout and almost died. Even if the damaging effects aren't seen immediately, they could surface many years down the road. |

I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.

I was at a pre-marathon dinner with an olympic runner giving a talk. After the talk he took questions. One woman said, "I run five miles a day. What supplements can I use to lose weight?"
He answered, "How about you supplement your ass out the door and run a few more miles."

I take it then he was rushed to hospital in an ambulance and in intensive care for a while, well he did almost die. So what caused his "almost death"? What ingredient in this supp caused this? And if this supp can "almost" cause death, why isn't it prohibited? Are you positive this supplement was the cause? I guess what I'm saying is that this is a huge statement you have posted and you need to back it up with some facts. "Could surface". Well now that does not sound convincing to me. So you don't really know? Right? |

If sports supplement history has taught us anything, it is that many people, even being aware of the risks, will still use supplements. However, dangers aside (and there are definite dangers), here is probably the most convincing reason for some of us who may take sups anyway, regardless of there health risks (I'm not saying you, but many people). The reason is most (99%) do not work. There is only one fat burner that I know of which worked, and it has since become illegal. All others are crap. Do not get sucked into the advertising gimmicks. Take you fish oils, protien, and if you aren't dropping fast enough for your liking, tweak your exercise/diet regimen. Or be happy with slow progress. The old saying of 'the longer it takes to get it off...' is a good one. As long as you are progressing and not regressing, you are in a very good place. |

The question here is not weather it works or not but unsubstanciated claims about this product nearly killing some one. Show me the toxicology report that documents this supp nearly killed that person.
Like I said before it's a huge statement to make with no evidence. |

I actually don't know what is in thbis particular supplement, but I can only assume that it is not the ephedrine/caffiene combo. as this is illegal. I have to agree with Adrian on this that show me some proof this sup. actually caused the death of a human being. Not gonna happen ina prevously healthy person. Now if you're talking about the stack that actually works (ephedrine/caffiene-and I'm not advocating it in any way) totally different story. There are documented deaths caused from the use of these drugs in combination with one another. |
