If you are still around, let me know.

Hi Dan, I stopped in at your web site and posted to your guest book. Hope your still around. I'm still Zoning. I have about 25 more lbs to go to get to my goal. I'd love to chat about restaurants that can actually serve you a meal that can be Zoned. Joell

The Chicken BLT has the most protein (33g) of any of their salads, but it is too low in carbs. It is also quite high in fat and this is before you add the Garlic Croutons and the Honey Mustard Dressing. I eat this salad only if I have been doing very hard physical activity. The best choice for fast food salads anywhere is the Mandarin Chicken Salad. Use half the package of Oriental Sesame Dressing and the roasted almonds they serve with it and you will get a three block meal with a little extra fat. You can search nutritiondata.com for more info. Most sit-down restaurants serve such huge portions that you can only eat half of it for a Zone meal. I save money on the zone diet since I don't go out to restaurants very often anymore. I prefer to grill up a bunch of chicken or other low-fat meat in advance and cook the veggies to go with them at meal time.

Thanks for the info on Wendy's salads, I eat their chili when I am out and can't get anything else. Sears gave it a thumbs up a long time ago and it has saved me from some bad choices many times. I too eat at home a lot. I find I will spend more at the grocery but it all comes out about the same. I shop Whole Foods and Wild Oats mostly, but my local Albertson's has been having Coleman's beef and buffalo at decent pricing, as well as free range grown chickens. I buy only wild fish from Alaskan waters now as I try to have fish several times a week. Tuna fish is a once in a while treat, and not albacore, which I loved. Joell

I noticed that "white" tuna, as listed in nutritiondata.com has a high amount of fish oil per serving. "Light" tuna, the cheap stuff, has very little oil in it. I bought a 2.5 lb. package of boneless chicken breasts on sale at Safeway this week. I grilled them all this morning. I'll get about 10 4-block servings out of it in all kinds of dishes; and the cost is only 70 cents for the protein.. Most of my meals at home cost between $1.50 and $2.00 per serving. I can't beat that at any restaurant. I also take good quality fish oil in capsules (sold at Vitamin Cottage and priced right). Vitamin Cottage has very competitive prices and can save you a lot of money on certain items.
