Hi everyone. Im new here, so Im going to be asking a lot of questions, lol. I have PCOS (recently DX) and Im trying to change my diet. I had read that there is too much Omega 6 in our diets and over consumption can interfere with the Omega 3's we take in (Im currently using a fish oil supplement and Extra Virgin Olive Oil with Omega 3's).

I went to a Health food store and the owner recommended me to buy Hemp Seed Protein Powder. I was telling her how I was a vegetarian but I started eating meat again last week or so after the Dx because I needed protein in my diet. I was eating unbalanced with too many carbs. She said that I dont have to get it from meat and gave me the powder. It wasnt until later I noticed it has 1600mg of Omega 6 with GLA ( it also has about 600 mg of Omega 3's I believe). I wished i would have seen it prior to buying. I dont want to be counter-productive or make my condition worse. Any insight on whether I should use this or not?

    Thanks!

    Hi!

You'd be better off with a protein powder that doesn't contain omega 6 fat. Dr. Sears Zone Protien Powder is excellent. You can also find others in stores. Protein powders made from whey and those made from egg white are both good choices.

It makes my eyes water, and I always wind up with the munchies, but other than that it is pretty good. Okay, just kidding. A lot of veggies are trying hemp and getting good results. I plan on adding it into my diet over the next few months. The results I am hearing are really favorable.

    Hi Patricia!

I don't often cook from a recipe. I usually make it up as I go along. For that reason I tried to include the ingredients in the captions, when they're not that obvious. The ones I've written down in recipe form can be found here:
