I can't find pecans on the Sears database. I'm trying to find out whether they're an acceptable source of fat, and if so, how many equal one block. Does anyone know where I can find that information? Thanks.

Thank you, but what's .04 of a cup? Four one hundredths of a cup?? Or .2 oz? Two tenths of an ounce? I don't have any idea how to measure that. |

Pecans are a major source of fat in my diet. They are the only nut that I can eat raw. Dr. Sears said in one post that they are a very good source of mono-saturated fat. I buy fresh raw whole Pecan halves (Junior Mammoth size) in bulk (11 or more lbs at a time), then put them in the freezer (they will stay fresh for up to a year). It just so happens that for this size 1 Pecan half equals one gram of fat. 3 Pecan halves equals one fat block (3g). How convenient! |
